Laptop Battery Life Took a ****
Hey guys, having a problem with my laptop battery. My laptop is a Toshiba A505-S6033, it is about 2 years old.

It has always had crap battery life (1hr before a fresh Win7 install and just under 2hrs post fresh Win7) because of the i7 and junk, but this morning it is showing 30mins @ 99% charge and dropping fast. I havent done anything on it within the last day (installing programs or dropping the laptop, etc) that would warrant such a sharp drop in battery life. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 was played on it for a couple hours 2 days ago, thats it.

Right now, in power saving mode and just having 3 Chrome tabs open and the main fan wont shut off (i think that is the cause of **** battery life). anyone have any ideas on fixing this? all i can think of is reinstalling windows again, which id rather not do unless i have to

any and all help is always appreciated!

Get a new battery. They die.


And if you mainly use your laptop in one place all the time, take the battery out and just use the power brick.

i rebooted and it installed some updates, back up to ~1hr battery life.

you are right though i shouldnt use the battery all the time
