So let me start the thread off by saying I googled and looked all over DMV websites as well as emailed them but I have still not gotten a definite answer.

I recently moved from Florida to Virginia. In Florida I had a learners permit and now since I am not a resident in Florida I can't get my license there. Can I just change my Florida Learners permit to a Virginia one? In Virginia you have to wait 9 months from getting your learners permit until you can get your license. Will I have to wait the whole nine months? Or will my time carry over. Also in Virginia you have to do 36 classroom hours and 14 in car hours. In Florida you have to do a few in car hours and thats it. Can I just do the classroom and in car hours for Virginia and then get my license when I turn 16 and 3 months?
I am really looking for someone who has had the same experience.
I think I may have found a loophole because it looks like I can use my Florida Learners Permit as a proof of residency and then I could just get my Florida license and then switch it to a Virginia one but I don't know for sure whether that will work.
Any help is appreciated.

if you go to the VA dmv, you can fill out the form for the change, or just wait until you get your license.

Thanks to the few who did help. What I am hoping is that I will be able to get my license in Florida and then because I am a student I can just keep my Florida License even though I am living in Virginia. In Virginia even if I have my Florida Drivers license if I try and change it to a Virginia one before I am 19 they will make me do the classroom and driving hours. These are the dumbest laws ever but I don't know how to get around them.

Outlaw: I would go to the DMV but I would rather not have to wait forever in line to ask a question. That is probably what I will end up doing but I thought I would try this first.
