Im trying to find a way to express how badly Kai just failed, but its becoming more and more obvious, the only way to describe this event is to read this thread.

I agree with a lot of the older guys here, that it is very difficult to come in here and adequately do anything in this subforum as a mod without having been here. I have posted very little here, mostly some C&C, but I visit it every day. I think the heavy stick by the older guys IS needed: a kick in the *** is the best way to get someone to listen and improve. Although it could be a little more constructive then "GTFO you suck dont ever post again", I don't see what the problem is with "Your 'photos' suck. Go to the FAQ, READ ****, and get better before posting again." Everyone is afraid to get criticism now. If you suck you suck. Make a damn effort to get better. I don't post my photos because they aren't good enough yet. I'm learning, fast, but don't want to get **** on for work I KNOW isn't good yet. Why post something you didn't actually put effort into? Its ridiculous.
Tony has been doing a great job as "one of the ST: Photo" guys trying to get this ship righted. I think change is a good thing, but babying people helps NO ONE. It makes the guys who are willing to help become *******s because nobody they are trying to help puts effort out, and it makes people who suck think they are good and become complacent in their photography education.
Pick up a ****ing book and read. A pretty good one is "The New Manual of Photography" by John Hedgecoe. Really helps with composition and understanding a camera.

I don't really see whats so hard about ignoring stuff you don't like. I've been frequenting this section for almost a year now and I've been doing the same thing for the entire time, steering clear of crap I don't want to see. I wish most of you could be more like me and just not really care. I mean, just ignore anything you don't care to deal with. Maybe people will get the hint and stop coming in here, or they'll seek out the answers to their own questions.

See, the thing is that we don't just tell people to GTFO unless they deserve it by saying something stupid.
It's no different than ST.
Kai needs to knock the **** off and be a better mod in there.

Why can't we sidestep it?
We're irritable bastards. That's why.

Ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away. They just post in every other thread multiple times if that happens. Thinking we somehow missed their art.

The problem is, we can't just ignore it. We ignore it in the garbage photography thread, so they post it in the WDYS/PPTW thread. We ignore it there, and they post it in the one photo per week for in depth critique thread. It's ridiculous. They don't get that we don't want to take the time to critique their ****ty pictures, and if we finally tell them what we really think, they report us, which is what caused this whole "reformation" in the first place.

The only mod who knows wtf hes talking about is Tony.
Dear Tony,
Tell your other mod friends to stay away from this forum. Use what happened to Kai as an example.
You have it under control and we dont need anyone else's help.

You cannot honestly tell me that the bans that JungleLarry, Crane, KrnBrdMnREMIX, ...Lost, and Cliche were justified based on what they do in this forum. These people help others, these people have done the same thing day to day for a year, these people kept the photo forum what it was.

Im sorry, but they are justifed. Ive had countless of flaming and hating against everyone of those people you just posted. What you need to understand is that its one thing to post a C&C thats helpful to make that person grow, but its not right to just flame someone flat out and tell them gtfo...
Like i said before this is a Paintball sub forum, which mean most of the people (newcomers) will post paintball photos. in the past year ive joined many photography forums half which are sub forums. In each sub forum that ive joined Ive seen countless of crappy pictures just like what you see here. One thing that you dont see is countless flaming and hate towards the new comer. Instead they get people to either give them good C&C that can help them or they only get around 1-5 post in the thread. Now i wonder why things dont get out of hand in the other forums? My guess is because no one really flames anyone and all the new comers are welcomed which gives them a much better feeling to check out the other pictures posted and inspire them to do better if they want to take photography more as a hobby.
I rarely post anything anymore here because all i see its just rant and trash talk.
Im pretty sure you knew it was just a matter of time before the chaos had to stop.

The said new members with the crappy pictures will not be satisfied if we just ignore their thread or post, which we have tried to do in the past. They will keep upping it and keep posting the shots. Now after theyve done that, its only reasonable that wed be alitle annoyed.
No one has ever told someone in his first thread or post with his crappy pictures to "gtfo", it happens over time.

JD, before I say anything, let me just say that I really do respect you and have nothing against you. Now that I've got that out of the way, I just have to say that I disagree with you on this one. I don't feel like talking about the bans because that's a whole different story, but I really have to disagree about the noobs.
I have absolutely no problem offering CC to a noob who comes in here with crappy pictures, but is willing to learn. If I can tell that he's been around asking questions and showing a positive effort to be better at taking photos, then I'm more than willing to help him. I love giving CC to noobs when they have an open mind and willingness to learn. They're the ones who will make it in the long run.
The thing is, a majority of the new people who come in here have no idea what the hell they're talking about and are totally unwilling to accept anything other than "Hey! Your photos rock, keep posting them because I love them!" They only want to here positive stuff, so when we tell them that their photos do suck, but also tell them how they could make them better, they take it with a grain of salt and get utterly offended. I'm not going to take the time and effort to CC a guy who tells me to shut the hell up when I even offer him help, because it's a waste of my time.
It's not that I hate the noobs, it's that I hate the noobs who give no effort and don't give two ****s about improving anything. And that's the way a majority of these new guys are.

Nothing” happened” to me; I am still here and will be for as long as I desire to…
I stopped trying to reason when I realized that you, and many of your buddies actually DON’T have valid point so you simply attempt to invalidate anything I have to say based on the fact that I am not “accepted” or welcome among your clique ( remind me to feel bad about that later )
The fact remains that whether you do or do not agree what with I had to say, they are terms of service that still has to be followed long as you want to keep an account in good standing… Trying to argue or justify that, would be a waste of my time because in regards to that, what YOU think or have to say does not matter…

Hey guys...
pissing off Mega Mods here does not make my job any easier. Everyone take a deep breath and chill for a minute. I'm off for a while but I'll be back at work in here shortly.
