Oh I'm already making payments every month for my Car loan, phone bill, and insurance, so I have no problem with the responsible habits. I just never wanted to have a credit card for fear of buying something big out of a spontaneous/impulsive attitude and then get ****ed with it.

If I get a card, it'd be for gas and groceries, with like a $500 limit max. I'll probably just look into my bank's offered cards whenever I head back home next week.

is the car loan in your name? if it is, you should be already building some credit. But my Audi is the first one that has been completely in my name.

It is in my name, but I also have a co-signer on that, not sure if it matters. I've been making on-time payments consistently now on the car for a year. Not sure how fast that would build my credit as opposed to a credit card though.

I'm not exactly sure. I had the student card for about 2 years probably then I applied for another card and got declined. Then I left school and got my BMW and would have been approved, but got a cosigner for a better rate. Then I got another card and got approved for the Audi at a low rate on my own. So I am not sure how long it takes, but I think longer than 2 years maybe?

You build more credit by having a balance, and making your monthly payments, rather than charging something, and paying it off completely right away, don't you?

not 100% sure. I think continuing to use them and pay them off is just as good as carrying a balance. I don't think using it one time, paying it off and just having it sit there does much for you, though. They might cancel them if you never use them.

I have a balance on mine now. I try not to make a habit out of it, but sometimes I buy too much stuff. Should be paid off soon.

updating my old iphone. I just use it as an ipod for my car. Problem with using it in the car is the connector comes loose at the slightest move. I never had this issue using my nano in my BMW. But the nano is too small, its only like a 1GB or 2GB. Maybe the new connector on the iphone 5 will not have this problem, though my car will not have that kind of connector.

you build more credit by making your payments and never being late. holding a balance is not necessarily good or bad so long as you do not miss payments. i pay my balance off every month but i really do not use my credit card for anything huge. you definitely do not want to get in the habit of holding a balance, though.

edit: no one has U level swag. then there is Maryland, they are the anti-swag
