1of1 markers

Since when does everybody think their gun is 1of1 just bc they anodized it a different color. This is ridiculous. I have never seen so many 1of1 markers in my life.

Just for reference I have 6 1of1 markers, I put all my own scratches in it myself. There are none like them, so you should buy any 1 for $2,000.

Hurry quick bc they are going like hot cakes.

BOOM!!

Lol yeah that stuff makes me laugh. Because you know no one else in this world is going to think like you.

Though that being said i AM going to make my marker a 1of1 by coloring it and get custom laser work.

It's been said in some circles that no anno job makes anything rare. And it's true. Yet, you can't really stop people from thinking the color or color combo makes their BlekoBlaster12 more valuable, desireable, and rarer than every other BlekoBlaster12 out there.

Notice how none of those are rare because of their anno.

...I guess the Eclipse cocker to an extent is because of the finish but that's because it's not anno and isn't easily copied.

And I haven't seen the Dark DM4 in a while. Cool pic.

Through some farting around on PBN I've found that a few of the Dark DM4 owners have installed UL frames on their guns. Maybe they prefer the UL to the stock frame, but I'd argue they are devaluing the gun by doing so. If it was me I'd try to keep it as original as possible.

The original story was that 3 were made and one of those 3 blew up due to too much material being milled off of the body. But from what I've seen, it seems like there at least 4 Dark DM4s in circulation. Though I could be wrong.

And I should correct my earlier post. I thought I had seen at least 2 of them with UL frames, but I guess it was just one.

Technically a gun with a custom anno that has not been duplicated is rare, it is a 1 of 1 custom. What you're really talking about is desirability. That's the huge difference. I have the only 15 bps low pressure Brass Eagle Avenger II in existence. I love it, it was a hoot to build over the years, cost me a pile of money in parts (the circuit board in the grip frame cost 7 times what I paid for the actual gun) and I'll never sell it... since I'd get may be $30 for the thing. Not a desirable gun to the population at large, but one of my personal favorites in the collection.

And desirability is subjective. To me the Dark DM4 isn't a rare "gun". It's a rare milling job on a very common gun. Meh. To someone else it's the coolest thing ever.

To me, something like a Satco 700...

Or a Gotcha Deuce...

Or an Eagle...

Now that's rare.

Putting a different nano on a gun does not make it a 1of 1 gun. Such language has always been treated and given authority or latitude to the manufacturer or an agent of the manufacturer who make a certain amount of them then never again. Such latitude will never extend to making a complete product 1 of 1 just bc the person did an aftermarket modification.

If it were that simple then every product in the world will be limited edition in some aspect which would make nothing limited edition (understand the logic). If you were an original designer, fabricator, manufacturer, or agent of the manufacturer and it was the intent to limit something then you have the right to call it such.

However if you do an aftermarket modification then you are simply breaching the desirability category for custom work, but nowhere near the limited or 1of1 category.

With that being said I look at it as "fraud in the inducement" when people lightly throw around such phrases bc someone who collects sees that and without doing h/w buys on these forums just to realize it is not limited to anybody but the moron who stated it was and what are they left with.........a gun with a modification, nothing more nothing less!!

Subjective. To some, a black to yellow fade DM is just the same as any other DM, others it's a "limited edition Femme Fatale DM". To me a custom one of a kind black to yellow with a reverse splash job DM would be more desirable because it is customized. The other, eh, just a stock gun, same as the rest.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up actually.

Well I guess I it wouldnt be an official 1 of 1 but if I get the custom work that I draw up no one want have it cause I drew it up. In that sense that would be a 1 of 1 or at least the laser design would a 1 of 1.

you can look at it both ways. if i custom ano my gun with a unique design that i created , then it would be a 1 of 1, but then there is the production meaning to 1 of 1
