can I put a drop forward on a DMC? what am I missing?

By the end of this, it will be painfully obvious that I am an old school player. I would prefer a single trigger to a double and a mechanical to any electro.

That being said, I took some time off of from the game and have recently gotten back into it. I picked up a DMC and after collecting all of the necessary parts and putting the gun w/ accessories together I noticed that my tank is a little too long to sit comfortably against my shoulder. In the past, I would have just slapped a drop forward on the gun and called it a day. With these newer style dovetail asa’s it seems to be not quite that easy.

So, I would like to put a drop on my nearly stock DMC. I have noticed that my current ASA is attached to the underside of the trigger frame on a dovetail mount. If I remove this, is there screw holes to affix a standard drop? I just would rather ask on here before I go messing around pulling this gun apart to find out there is nothing to screw a drop onto. Any expertise on this would be appreciated….

Also when did drop forwards go out of style in general? The 10 inch barrel fad I knew would not last…but I figured people would always use drops. It is interesting to see all of the new guns that just don’t have a drop. People must like the longer gun style these days?

Yes, there are two threaded holes for conventional asa/drop mounts.

Most likely it it should, but it has a Dovetail to the original frame. You would most likely have to find a Dovetail to Dovetail Drop.

In this case though, I think it is ok to sacrifice style for functionality. It is not like we are talking about cargo jorts here

Most find it more functional to not play with a drop.

But play however you are comfortable. You shouldnt have any problems mounting a drop to your dmc.

not everyone plays airball. in hyperball its better to have a 12inch barrel with a drop, depends on the situation

I play plenty of hyperball and do not use a 12in barrel or a drop.

It is best to use whatever you are comfortable with.
