The piranha PSI is the smartest thing that any low/mid semi maker ever did. It's like PMI's version of a Shutter that isn't dumb . That, and it actually has a decent reg. However, I believe it's still cheaper to upgrade from an STS or a VTL to the same thing, check that out first.

As for the difference between the STS and the EXT: unless they changed something recently, they are identical. In fact, All the piranhas are more-or-less identical internally. The only difference that might still be around is the lower end ones (VTL, BTL) had non-venturi bolts (this is not a BAD thing), that were steel I believe(instead of anodized aluminum).

the piranha psi is a waste of $, just buy a pure energy regulator and put it on your piranha. it saves you money. but i wouldnt suggest getting the pure energy regulator if your running co2, ive heard bad stuff about running them on co2. if you want to get a pure energy i would suggest buying it from www.paintballgear.com because you can get one for about 40 bucks there.if you get one you might need to get a steel hose or macroline kit and also a bottomline. i would suggest macroline. PEACE

Nope, im here too. The black maxx i saw in a cabelas mag. Its just a plastic versioni of the piranha, same internals, and a weird cocking rod. for 65 bucks, it looks pretty good.

Thumbs up

A good choice, Piranha over a Spyder
you will be very happy with it!
I bought a VTL and it cost just about $200 for 12oz, hopper and expansion chamber the PSI is $209 at paintballgear.com

Hey DerekAk

dont worry about the verticlefeed on a pro getting in your way.........
The powerfeeds on all the other models get in the way any way.
