I enjoyed playing against you this weekend! Maybe in the future we will fight side by side! Look forward to playing with you again!
I'll let you know what side we play on in November!

Let me preface this that this is not an attack on you. I am going to provide some food for thought.
As I have said before this thread is for the Beaches of Normandy scenario thread. Were you at this scenario? Did you experience what all these other players, including myself, experienced?
If not, then why do you feel it necessary to post on this thread. Please go make a new thread in the "Indiana" sub section or some other place on PBNation.
This thread is here to discuss the scenario and maybe do some smacktalk.
You are not talking about this specific scenario, you are talking about White River Paintball as a whole. I am not here to argue with you. I am stating a fact. If you were not at this scenario, there is no reason for you to really be posting on this thread.
I'm sure you have good intentions, I just think that you are going about this the wrong way.
Thanks,
Jeffrey McDuff
PS. Lets all remember what dear 'ole Grandma McDuff always said: "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar."

I am looking forward to our next event. I know it doesn't matter what side or team I am on. I will have a great experience. I am sure we all will see a great paintball field, as WRP has shown us in the past.
They will get over all this negative crap.
I would like to thank all the player's that donated their prizes to our younger players. That just shows the heart and soul of our beloved sport. Thanks guys and gals.
Suggestion: Could we do a sort of 1 on 1 duel when there are disagreements on a call? Or maybe a quick draw contest during lunch - like you did for the rubick's cube?
Maybe a rouge ref assassin squad?
Just throwning a idea or to. I am really looking forward to details on our next even.
Thanks WRP for a awesome time. Maybe back this weekend for some open play.
Its official! Only one injury the whole weekend....ME!!!! I stepped into a hole walking up to the axis side just before the Invasion and snap! small fracture to my Tibia and torn ligament with a bone shard! In an air cast. The only guy who wasn't playing got hurt!

If certain people with multiple accounts (my thats brave) want left out of it then they should stay out of it.

4) POLICE the gun policy. 10 bps....semi......I directly witnessed a player on my side shooting in 3 round burst, I got spot chrono at 285, 267, 293 and was told I was good.
Our handheld's tend to be 15 over normal speed. you go to the red you prolly woulda sat at 270, 252, 278.
i however didnt reff this event to know the whole story or if they handhelds were like that during the day. just my input from prior events.

just curious....how many total players were there? this was my first scenario and it was awesome definately worth the 4 hour drive! thanks for a great weekend!
The Outdoorsmen are looking foward to Whiteriver rebounding from this event and bringing it strong in Nov. I know Darren is putting the only good foot he has forward to help make sure that Whiteriver lives up to it's reputation of being a good field. Ben and Darren anything you guys need help with just let us know. Ben thank you for the flyers and I will be promoting this game and we will bring in a good showing of players. Let's look to the future and have a great game. Thanks

Mad respect your way Karl. I have been mulling things over the last few days and have come to the following conclusions...
1) This event definitely was not one of the best I have ever been to.
2) Other events at this field have been a blast.
3) Tolerance and forgiveness are fine characteristics for a human being to have.
4) Even Unsocial One deserves better than what I have been serving him or her (sorry, couldn't resist)
That being said, even though I was less than pleased with my experience this past weekend, I feel that I should give them a shot at redemption. I would like very much for a many of you as possible to join me in giving this field another go around. Don't disappoint us wrp, because you only get one shot to redeem yourself in this life!

First I would like to point out that I did not attend this game, but I do like to read the threads to see how the game turned out.
The thing that I find disappointing is all the bashing going on. I don't understand why a person continues to bash a particular field over and over and over again. We know how you feel, you are entitled to your opinion, but its mundane for you to do it for EVERY event. If you don't like the place, don't go, but for you to sit here and bash EVERY event they have is a little childish. You are not the Scenario Master. It is not up to you what changes get made for the benefit of all. I think Darren does an awesome job, and as long as he is there, I will continue to go to White River.
As far as the facilities go, name another field in central Indiana that would be able to handle an event with the size and scope that White River does. Some of us work, and taking off four days to drive to Chicago or Michigan is not within our means.
As far as the reffing staff goes, there is not a better reffing staff in the state of Indiana. These guys bust their tails off running around when its 105 degrees out. You guys can leave the field whenever you want to get more paint or air, take a breather, and get some water. These guys get a break when the horn sounds. Rather than bash them for not sprinting and passing out every time someone yells paint check, why don't you buy them a bottled water? I have had a ref jump in front of my when McDuff thought it was a good idea to airdrop in a trailer, and I have stood next to one while he was puking his guts out from busting his tail. Take thinks in perspective, they aren't robots, they are people. Overshooting? That's not up to the refs, thats up to the individual players. If you are a turd that likes to overshoot people, what do you expect a ref to do? In the 2 seconds it takes a ref standing next to you to do anything, you've already shot the guy 20 times, and thats if you don't have the nerve to be ramping. Overshooting, ramping, wiping, its all cheating. Its constant insertion. What is the point of cheating?
Paint is paint, when its 100 degrees, its gonna bounce. Bad paint, bounced more, ok, but you guys were all shooting the same stuff. It's not like one team got good paint and one got the junk. Also, when its hot you cant just leave it sitting out at your camp in the blazing sun. Bring a cooler next time. And while on paint, how much does paint cost at Sherwood? CPX? Hell's Survivor? I'm not saying they sell the best paint, but for a scenario of this size the pricing is inline with all the others.
I love playing paintball and promoting the sport and meeting new teams and players. If I were someone that didn't know anything about paintball and I read this forum, I would never play. Not at White River, not anywhere. Is this the type of image that we want to project? We should be encouraging people to give it a try. It already gets a bad enough image when idiots go around shooting mailboxes and road signs.
There were issues with this event. White River will fix them. I will see you guys in November.
