Safe playing environment!!, the D-1 and Pro field might have had nice turf and been fairly flat, but my god fields 2 and 3 were terrible. Hills and valleys throughout the field, turf poorly laid on top of itself, not to mention that the turf on fields 2 and 3 was tacky. How many players had broken arms or wrists after this event? i know i saw at least 3 guys in slings on sunday and watched a kid tank on a dive first game friday morning and break his wrist or arm.

Now i know that the Pro teams are what everyone come to watch but its the divisional teams that pay the bills, there were 25 teams that played on the race 2 field and 87 that played on the "divisional" fields. it would be nice to see some of the money that all the divisional players put in go back to our fields instead of vamping up the race 2 field.

Simple but things that really need to be addressed and i dont know why more people are not talking about it.

TURF are you kidding me. 2 broken bones by day 2 not sure how many more. the turf is old beat up not maintained. people pay money not to screw them selves up.

even out the field. way to many ruts and bumps on the fields. i cant even remember how many people ate crap because of the random bumps and ditches.

amazing in how bad it was. but then again what can you expect it is nppl.

you did not read the part in the waiver that says "you most likely will break a arm and we wont care... best wishes NPPL"

This isn't just NPPL.. its our sport..

One of my team mates was out for the season after getting caught up on a stake/cord diving into a bunker during a PSP event on grass.

The surface under 2/3 was really bad as well.. 1 was great, so again back to the pro's vs joe's type of thing.

i couldnt agree more. they are so rude at the event, and make the players feel as if the NPPL is where it is at and you need this league. Sorry to say but i have never ever in the last 3 years of nppl events been treated like they treated me and a couple of other guys right at the registration tent. good luck trying to tread water when psp comes to riverside!!!!

but guys, NPPL posted on their facebook that they were stepping it up for the NPPL Players when they bought brand new never before used turf for HB! and they threw out the CRAP turf that was on Field 1 from Vegas....instead of replacing the turf on field 2 or 3.

NPPL needs to look beyond Field 1.

To tell the truth I went to HB being somewhat skeptical and was curious to see how things would go. But I was pleasantly surprised, there were things here and there that could have been better but thats life nothing is perfect. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

It means a lot to me to have stepped on the field for my first event pro at a location as legendary as Huntington Beach. It was also amazing playing against legendary teams and player I grew up looking up to. As a young paintball player i grew up seeing the NPPL as the pinnacle of our sport, I hope one day they will again achieve this title.

They need to unban Empire, JT, and Dye from setting up vendors at the event. They are all huge potential sponsers not to mention all the pro teams that dropped out because of sponsers banned.

Those companies aren't "banned", they simply don't want to be there because they have more interests in the PSP.

From my understanding, it is actually worse than "they don't want to be there"... The PSP is locking companies into contracts that bar them from supporting other leagues... Specifically I'm talking about paint companies... Assuming it is the same for vendors...

You can assume, but you would be incorrect, and I can think of a few vendors off-hand who vend at both series.

Of course there are ones that support both... And I think that is great... Open capitalism benefits the player / sport the most hands down...

I do know the paint situation is like that so it would only be logical that they would try that with vendors... It's smart business for PSP to do it that way, bad business for the individual vendor to be locked into restrictive contracts of that sort...

Which is why my team is a now a Spire sponsored team instead of Rotor... Got tired of not having manufacturer reps at tourneys when the rotors went down...

Well for those of you who weren't paying attention... Supposedly the merger talks were brought on by the big paint (paint manufacturers have and will always run tournament paintball) companies GI/Draxxus and Kee wanted to see one league. Then they froze out NPPL because they obviously aren't gunna come out on top if a league folds it will be NPPL given current states.

So it's not that the big bad PSP is controlling everything trying to lock up their sponsors. It's the sponsors trying to knock it down to one league because it saves them money. I really wish the merger had gone through. It's not going to get better for NPPL anytime real soon.

All of this is really interesting feedback. I was originally coming at it from a marketing perspective, but obviously there are a lot more issues than that.

As someone from Colorado, it's too bad that the PSP and NPPL have a conflicting date for August as it'll be the first national event in Denver in 8 something years? NPPL Denver turnout is going to be weak
