Vista and gaming don't get along that well as of yet, and IMO Alienware machines are overpriced.

No, sorry. I'm not in the gaming laptop market so I don't have any other input. Have you shopped around to see if there are any other brands that can give you those specs?

Gaming laptops aren't good for gaming. I think you should fix your current computer and get a normal laptop (~$700) for schoolwork and non gaming things.

This is what I'd recommend as well, but he doesn't want to lug a desktop to college.

i think you picked a good laptop

i have a alienware Aurora m9700 and its great for gaming but... i defititly dont think it would be good for college because of its battery life. i keep it plugged in at all times though because i use it in my room insted of a desktop.

but i think you picked a great laptop

I'm looking at a Best Buy catalog right now and I was thinking about getting this...

Sony Vaio FE880E/H
*Windows Vista Home Premium
*Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500
*Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology
*2048mb DDR2 memory
*160GB hard drive
*Built-in camera and microphone

$1399

It does not say the graphic card it comes with.

Don't get the Alienware. They're just an overpriced Dell, so get a Dell instead

some dell desktop replacement laptops have actual video cards. You could always get like a lan pc.... where the tower is like the size of a gamecube.

Most Dell laptops have dedicated video memory. I'm pretty sure almost all of them have that sort of option, from the Latitude and Inspiron line to the XPS. I know some of the lower-end ones don't.

Alienwares are overpriced. Dell is always going to be cheaper though you could get a Macbook with a student discount too.

Too Erus_Vestrum, pick your own avatar you ****ing douche.
