MSCC (Class AA) 2012-2013 Tentative Dates, Information, and Discussion

Hi guys, it's me, Stephen, your friendly neighborhood Conference Director (for now). I was your conference director last season, and met at least some of you during our events. I feel like we had a pretty good season during the last school year, and this one will hopefully shape up to be even better.

Just full disclosure here, I will be graduating soon, and it is not common practice for seniors to be conference directors. As such, if you're interested in taking up some extra responsibilities for the good of the NCPA and schools in our region, I suggest you speak to Joe about filling this role down the line somewhere.

For direct contact with me, use Facebook or call/text:

http://www.facebook.com/yaboysteve
(910) 474-2092

Discussion as far as events and dates is highly encouraged.

Events:

1. September 29, 2012 - Liberty Open - Liberty University
https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3859684
2. November 10, 2012 - MSCC#2 - Nitro Paintball, Canton, GA
https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...8#post76900718
3. February 9, 2013 - MSCC #3 - Nitro Paintball, Canton, GA
https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3924646
4. March 30, 2013 - MSCC #4 - Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA
https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3933438
5. Nationals

Standings from Last Season--as per the National rankings, of schools with 2 or more MSCC or SACC scores. (plus some that I'll note separately)

1. Georgia State (4 MSCC scores)
2. FGCU (2 MSCC, 2 SACC scores)
3. Liberty (2 MSCC scores)
4. ECU (4 MSCC scores)
5. VTech (3 MSCC scores)
6. Georgia Tech (4 MSCC scores)
7. Kennesaw (3 MSCC scores)
8. Embry-Riddle (2 SACC scores)
9. EKU (2 MSCC scores)
10. Clemson (3 MSCC scores)
11. UCF (2 SACC scores)
12. FSU (3 SACC scores) (this one is kind of confusing because they're listed 3 different times for the events they played)
13. VCU (2 MSCC scores)
14. Missouri University of Science and Technology (2 MSCC scores)

And now the confusing part, schools that should be in the region but had only 1 (or no) MSCC/SACC scores, and their original standings if the list included them:

9. USF (1 SACC)
12. GA Southern (0 MSCC/SACC)
15. UNC Charlotte (1 MSCC)
17. High Point (1 MSCC)
18. ETSU (1 MSCC, played Class A at Nationals)
19. George Mason (1 MSCC)
20. UF Gators (1 SACC, Class A at Natinoals)
21. FAU (1 SACC, Class A at Nationals)

Now, as a representative from ECU's club, I know we would absolutely like to host an event, probably in October.

Clemson is also interested in hosting another event. Our event would probably be best in early spring or late fall, just before or after the cold. We could do either semester.

ECU, I'll hit you guys up and we can coordinate which you'd rather do.

We could always do a more neutral location. I know PBC Rock Hill would prolly like to have us. And they have really really nice facilities and fields. And Rock Hill is a fun place to go for a weekend and has lots of hotels.
We could even do a big event with all the teams at a restaurant or somewhere. That'd be fun.

Any chance GA State would host in November or December? It would be great for our more-southern events to take place during the times that it would be coldest.

We can schedule one. It would probably be best in terms of attendance from more-distant schools to not have it too close to the date of Nationals for the sake of travel cost.

We at ECU were told we weren't allowed to travel that far for regular season play, but we'll get our 4 scores from other events so it's no worry.

I'm in talks with NC fields about the ECU event in October.

But, ga state being the #1 from last season, I don't mind scheduling the ecu event at a different time, just need to know so I can continue with the plans

Clemson wants to host an event in November, or sometime next semester. It's usually perfect paint wars weather around early November.

Who hosted the Georgia tourney last season? GSU, GT?

Ah. I'd vote that Kennesaw hosts another tournament because that was the best tournament of the year. Best field, best refs, best staff. The nice weather helped out too, but the owner was a genuine guy that enjoyed having us there.

Is anybody from Kennesaw around to talk about hosting again?

Also, PBC Rock Hill said they could be Clemson's host field in November or the spring, they just need to know the date so they can check if they already have reservations.

And for anyone that doesn't know PBC Rock Hill, they used to host MAO and still host CFOA, so you can be sure they have sweet facilities and are great with tournaments.

I haven't seen the person who usually posts on their behalf in here in a while. I'll go dig through my PM's and see if I can't get in touch with him.

I'm not sure if this would be in the right thread, but is there any interest in hosting an event at Pev's Aldie?

Still around! I know Mario would love to host an event and has already talked about wanting to do it. Don't want to intrude and steal a hosting opportunity from GSU though. If they don't mind I can have the event up on appa and details on pbn within a few days once the date is chosen. We actually have air stations in the two pits adjacent to the field now!

How bout November 10th or 11th at Nitro?

What do ya think Pyro?

And then either GSU, ECU or CU can pick up the 2 tourneys in the spring. Or maybe even do 3 tourneys...??

Let me run that date by Mario and make sure it isn't the date of the Scenario he is hosting there in November. I'll post back up shortly. If other teams to throw in some input for a date also that would be great!
