Co2 tank help/advice

ok so im fairly new to the paintball community and i had purchased a painball gun (tippmann alpha black, tactical m16) with a 20oz Co2 tank. I had played like around 6 games until it ran out of air. I went to get it refilled by one of the workers at hollywood sports and like 4 minuites after the refill my tank started to freeze up. it froze to the point where it was like dry ice. for about an hour it was frozen until i had taken it out of my bag and it cooled off. Is that normal for it to do that after refill. will it blow out if i use it again. and how can/ if i can prevent it from freezing? and is that a sign of problems?

Exactly as mentioned before. Pretty normal and you should be fine.

As stated above, that's normal, however I would recommend altogether leaving your c02 tank and buy a cheap steel/aluminum 3000 PSI HPA tank. It should be 20-30$'s used and works a lot better.

You wont freeze up and it's altogether better for your marker and will protect it's quality.

How cold
Is it where you play ? You may want to consider a
Cheap steel HPA tank if it drops below 45 degrees

Do not heat a tank with compressed contents. It is very easy to increase the pressure beyond safe levels.

No problem. I as well recomend leaving co2. Fills are cheaper. Will allow better consitancy. And will eliminate that problem.

At most you will want to use cold water (if the bottle is frosting over, the cold water will still warm it up as its temperature is higher). Unless you have a container of liquid where the temperature is known to be safe, it is possible to overheat a bottle using warm water from the tap.

Get a cheap tank cover so the cold won't bother you, and leave it alone.

I feel like it might be wise just to ditch co2 in all

ok heres an update, i just checked my tank and its completely empty, i heard that if you empty (even firing) a co2 paintball gun the tank tends to get cold; is that correct? so what im thinking is because one of the new employees filled it up for me -_- he accidently emptied it and since it rapidly got emptied the temprature dropped. either that or i have a leak in the tank; but i heard no or seen no sign of co2 leaking out of the tank

CO2 is a cold liquid. I've seen tanks frost up on the field at HSP before. Also I play there as often an possible. Hope to see you there

I put mine it warm water. If u have a 20 oz tank they only fill it to 19. Putting it in even room tempurture water will do it

K. Fields dump the tanks before they fill them. Thats what freezes up the machine and the tank. The HAVE to dump the what like half oz left in the tank

I'm surprised you haven't blown your burst disk yet. I've seen those blow when people leave them in the sun on a hot summer day.
OP-Ditch the C02 if you can. Especially if you plan to stay in the sport.

Like everyone say just dump the co2 all together and get a steelie HPA tank which cost about $20-$30 used for a 3000psi. Not only is it cheaper in the long run but better. On the plus side you don't need to worry about freezing and what not and most fields charge you for refilling co2 now and days. Air is free all day after pay.
