I was never impressed with the TT's interior, it feels cheap compared to other audis.

I've never been in a tt but I've been in every modern generation of porsche

I find it hard to believe an early tt has a nicer interior feel than even a base 996

I think he meant in terms of condition to quality? As in his TT interior is way better cuz the 996 is trashed...

But aside from that, I love my TT's interior. It is no supposed to fit in line with other Audi's, it's a sports car that is supposed to have a functional yet unique classy style to it. And it pulls it off as you can't really say any other car has an interior as different but still classy as the TT.

This is crazy... Have you guys been in a TT? Look at some of the post on forums. For the time it was one of the BEST, and people still say it is unique and the design is like no other. Other than the glove boxes blowing up they are very solid. Even though it was bland (Black on Black) it still had the quality feel and Rigitity. Have you seen a baseball stitched TT interior? It is amazing. I am not trying to toot my own horn but the 996 Felt like cardboard.

Opening the doors, both side A pillar trim fell off. The dash moves around and is flimsy. Very Fragile and bland. I could see the sport seats being better, but the quality was not there. Compare the two, everyone yesterday said it felt and looked like ****. I do not mind it, but it is a "Sports Car".

To each his own. At the end of the day I am still looking for a Porsche. I would Gut the interior anyways, I was just sort of taken back. Photos do not do any justice. In fact, they make it look better.

My uncle has an 01' 225 and I just wasn't that impressed TBH. Seats aren't that comfortable, shifter looks cheap, etc. I like how it drives, but the interior is the weak point imo.

Since you TT guys are posting, what kind of gains will you see from a downpipe on a 225 TT with a Revo chip, catback and cone intake? Car also has a Fuel pump and some kind of diverter valve.

Cheapest place to find a decent one?

Don't need a fuel pump until Higher HP.

Go with Gonzo Tuning. Downpipe + TIP. The tune requires "No hardware" though.

280HP 300TQ.

300$ Tune. 400$ with cable and 100$ back on return. Or you can send in the ECU.

He already has all the mods I listed. I was just curious if a downpipe was worth it (what are the gains from just the DP) and which is the cheapest decent one

Downpipe is one of the best upgrades, other than a larger turbo.

Relentless is a hit or miss. That is the one I will be buying. They are about 300$ shipped are on Version 3 which is supposed to fit well now. It is an ebay part but people have had good luck.

The 42DD one I have heard is the best. About 450-550 shipped. At least 40+ HP and quicker spool.

Should be ordering mine within a month. If he can wait I can post up an installation and quality of the product.

I'm not sure when he wants to do it, depends on price i guess.

40chp from just a DP? **** I miss having a turbo car. Easiest way to get 40hp in my e36 is to swap the motor lol

kind ranch edition audi TT?

I agree that the 996 interior has not really aged well. I think a new wheel and maybe some seats would really help it along if one were so inclined, the center stack is the part that makes it ugly, and there is no good way to fix it. The TT interior looks like a lot of plastic, where as the porsche probably depends on the original owner what you get. A lot of porsches are a cheap spec with not much going on. Then there is my friend that will order every deviated stitching option and have the car look amazing, but its probably like $10k worth of interior options.

997 interior though, om nom nom. They really cleaned up the center stack. Much more modern looking. This is my friend's, dat deviated stitching everywhere.

Also, just noticed my above post was supposed to go in the GDT. I can't delete it on my phone and I'm too lazy to switch accounts, so it stays, I guess.

my friend with black R8 is changing to different steering wheel. debating trying to acquire his old one. But I don't want to buy the freaking airbag that is like $1500 doll-hairs.

Racecar = No Airbags needed.

And to be honest, the TT interior isn't the best I've ever been in, but for the years it was made, and what it is made to do, and the price range it was in the interior fits it very nicely. I just wish I had Baseball leather interior.

Had a shop install a test pipe and redo my downpipe...

Can't even make it over tiny speedbumps without scraping. Flexpipe has 2" of clearance, subframe has ~4".
