Its not just about novelty. There is a significant increase in FPS performance running 2,3 GPU's. Also, I am not going to wait 2-3 months to build a PC for a single graphic card. I would rather buy the 680, then buy a 690 and sell the 680 or buy another 680 and SLI it to have 1 690 , may run hotter but thats why I bought the ANTEC case and a good cooler. Might need a new PSU if I get into 3 GPUs though.

Not really complaining since I got what I deserved, but I had 90 hours of Mass Effect 3 go byebye when some Seagate harddrives I bought crashed.

Wow... that sucks.
At least you get to keep your readiness percentage.

Yeah, you just might
I'm really pleased with my current card. It does exactly what I need it to, max out BF3 and everything else I play.

Because 20 terabytes is just a little bit of overkill...

I wouldn't care if I lost my saves, those are meaningless to me.
However the hours of cutscenes, in-game footage, and audio lost is what sucks. I'm too lazy to do all that again.

Could have physically damaged the memory or something though, if it's under warranty your best bet might be sending it back.

I did that, no luck. I hope they can replace it, it was a HD 6970.

Did the graphics card become slightly disconnected?
Re-seat it and make sure the fan is on correctly and everything. If not, you're pretty much screwed unless you can get it covered under warranty.
