lol, you do know where you are right? If you didn't want unwarranted speculation, people basing opinions on what a friend of a friend said etc... then you've come to the wrong place! This is PbNation, where in the absence of facts, we make **** up!
...if you wanted to correct any of my misconceptions, then I would be MORE then willing to hear where I'm wrong... Or, better yet, you guys could come out to We Were Soldiers at DFWAP next month and SHOW ME that I'm wrong.

I wonder how much it weighs without the stock and shroud.

lol, I got it... I'm sure it won't be a disappointment, but can you, really, blame me for being happy with DYE's current product offering?

Good catch on the two different stocks... I didn't see that some were missing the cheek weld (maybe that's removable too?).

no, id say they are fully different stocks. the thing that gave it away for me was the toe of the stock, that and the structure of the stock is different

The more solid one looks like it has a tool compartment. Cool. I do like how they shifted the stock lower. It pains me to see stocks that run inline with the barrel.
According to the press release:
Quote:
Inline Hyper Regulator
The all new In-Line regulator is based on the proven Hyper line of regulators and improves on it with the easiest access and simplest break down of any gun Dye has made. With the Quick Release Bolt any operator can toollessly access their bolt and regulator in one simplified assembly. Now all parts that require standard maintenance are accessed with 2 turns. With velocity adjustment accessible through the back cap, we've moved the regulator out of the way for that real military look and operation.
|
It looks like they just put the new hyper3 (hyper4?) behind the bolt endcap. That makes sense since the whole gun looks a lot longer than the base DM. I don't think this is NT based.
Also, I think I know how they do the switching feed sources: rotating eye-pipe.

I want the frame and single trigger from the DAM on a Matrix. Single triggers are sick.

That's what it says:
Quote:
On The Fly System
Be the most versatile player on the field with the all new OTF system. Combined with the rotating eye pipe gearing, this system allows the operator of the DAM unprecedented options for loading capabilities. With the slide of the OTF switch, the operator can seamlessly move from traditional hopper fed, to magazine fed loading, and back again at a moments notice. Use your shaped projectile rounds when you need precise shots and go back to regular paint when volume is necessary.
|
It's pretty ingenious in it's simplicity, imho.

The only problem i'm seeing here is that the eye pipes are prone to crack under pressure, kinda like obama. So how easy will they be to replace? and how much will one cost since i'm willing to bet they have geared teeth on them

If you are taking requests... I'm VERY interested in any of the diagrams of the bolt's operation. If you don't have a scanner, a couple pics of the manual would make me a very happy person.
