new to quests

I just recently bought my buddies quest from him. It was sitting in his closet for probably about 2 years. Ive only had the chance to air it up and shoot w/o paint. Is there any type of He bolt out for these things, because this thing is a gas hog. Also I believe it still has the stock WAS board in it, is it worth upgrading the board and if so which one

you can get a "4b" bolt kit from Thin Air Sports if they still have any.
the WAS board is good usually I wouldn't upgrade it unless it breaks somehow.

no the version doesnt matter in that regard. The 07 model is different in the body milling only, the internal operation is identical. Go chrono it, shoot paint and see about the efficiency then. but yea the 4 b bolt will help over a stock bolt & pin there are also a few DIY mods you can do to increase efficiency. search the forum for "Juit"

the mods should be in the ultimate quest sticky too. or whatever its called.

if you don't wanna fork out the money for the 4b (its not cheap) do the mods. it works almost the same

I should mention that I do have the lpr mod done, and I really need to start tuning my marker better. Or put the stock reg back on.

yea it works, I have it done on all my lpr,s. and stock hpr,s... It's science holmes
the most effective mod for increasing the efficiency is the pin mod with the metal stuff because it in effect reduces the size of the firing chamber. Don't over do it though or it will be counterproductive... I just use the macro line on the bolt pin, I took a section of macro and split it lengthwise then rigged it around the pin in the skinny section. This way does the same thing but not AS effectively, its removable though so I like it.

Your gun stock should still not be a gas hog. Relube both regs and bolt and when you go to the fields next back out your lpr all the way and slowly turn it up till you reach desired velocity with decent consistency.

I also emailed Thin Air Sports almost two weeks ago about getting a 4B bolt, but I haven't gotten a response back, so is there another bolt out there worth getting?

RSF bolt is the only other option.

Call 31st outfitters (don't email, they won't return it) about the 4B. They were the only place with 4B's remaining. They had a sale about a month ago and they may have sold them all, but it's worth calling to find out.

Depends on which stock board you have. They had like 80 bajillion for the quests in what little time it was made...

If your running a WAS board, then it might be a good idea to have a spare. Routinely check the BST section to try and find a spare. If you dont think your going to have the gun for long then dont bother.

WAS board doesn't have a first shot drop off setting. To me that was the biggest difference other than the fact that it had a history of failure. I never had issues still switched anyway, but fallin makes a good point. A note to make with the lucky boards is that they have a unique molex or connector for the eyes thart are a bit more work to come by than other eyes nowadays. Id recommended the inoviq board with the latest flash
Thin air doest have any 4b s. You need to contact 31stOutfitters. Our bad, we failed to mention that part
Just bought mine on monday n got it yesterday
On another note its also a good idea to have a backup main wire harness around, the stock onez were a little weak and the wires can break if you mess with em too much.

kinda surprised thin-air didnt point you in the right direction, sounds like they need to step up their game.

Are there any major differences between the classic quest and the critical quest?

Milling for the Critical is the 07. Critical has a CP v2 reg, not a Quest reg. Critical has a Critical ASA. Critical has RSF bolt and an 07 pin (slightly wider for better efficiency). Critical has a Critical trigger.
