The Ultimate Woodsball League is off to a successful and exciting start in the United States. So successful, in fact, that the UWL is pleased to announce the addition of a European event, making the league the first truly intercontinental woodsball series!

The Ultimate Woodsball League European Cup, presented by the National Paintball Fields, will be held November 15, 2009 in the United Kingdom at the NPF’s Bassetts Pole location near Birmingham. With a price of only 55 pounds per person, including air and a case of paintballs with extra paint available at only 35 pounds, this international woodsball event is certain to fill up fast and attract players from around Europe, the United Kingdom and possibly even the United States! Featuring an in-depth but simple and all-encompassing rulebook that allows for players with any type of paintball gun to compete on a level playing field, Ultimate Woodsball League events will be played on fields featuring two bases and two objectives. Teams will compete to capture the two objectives and their opponent’s base, and to hold both their own, receiving one point for each minute each objective is held. This format will enable teams to create in-depth strategies for capturing whichever objectives they see fit, rather than simply forcing the opposing teams to slug it out over a single, mid-field objective as is the case in other tactical leagues. FTF found some little field near Fort Wayne where we can get together to practice. It was originally us (Chicago) and FTF (Columbus, Oh), hence Fort Wayne, which is between us. Then we thought it would be good to have a third team. That way we can rotate two teams playing and one reffing and everyone gets some scrim time in. We'll have a lot of screwing around and BBQ'ing and stuff. We're looking at the last weekend in July as the most likely date.
