But you make a good point.

I've spent most of the last couple days in a number of DR's offices, so I've seen an unusually large amount of cable news.

Other than Fox News, all everyone seems to talk about is how terrible it is that Romney said that he isn't impressed with the way Obama's state department is handling these events.

Not the riots themselves.
Not how Obama said yesterday that Egypt is "Not an ally."
Not the fact that Obama skipped an intelligence briefing the day after the attacks to go fundraising.

If one didn't know better, one could get the impression that the media is more interested in making sure that Romney loses than covering the news.

That's exactly what's happening inflicted. All the things that are going on this week and the media buzz is all about the timing of Romney's statements. Meanwhile Romney's the only one I've seen say anything substantive on the subject at all.

What would you ideally want a POTUS to do about this situation? Armed guards that shoot those who break into the compound isn't exactly going to do us any good. The best bet at this point is pull everyone out, provide refuge for those who want to escape the violence, and allow the citizens of the respective countries deal with it on their own. They're destroying their own cities, not ours. The violent protesters do not have any real uniformed basis; at this point it's riot control.

Some good ideas were brough up earlier in the thread, namely pulling out the embassies and pulling out aid until these countries can guarantee a safe environment.
