Model 98 ebolt how-to?

Does anyone know of a build log that someone made a Model 98 ebolt setup? Looking to do one and can't seem to find any direction on where to go after buying a model 98 and the ebolt kit. any help would be great.

its a swap in job. not hard to do. depending on the model, you might have to find a place where the battery, but the kit is take out hammer and drop in the ebolt.

bit check in the Tippmann section for a write up of one.

It depends on how you are doing it. If you found one of the modular kits they drop right in if you have the appropriate version of the body.

If you are using an aftermarket control board with eyes then milling and drilling gets kind of extensive.

I've built many, but photo documented none. Just finished product photos mostly.

Ya the milling with eyes is what I'd like to do. Can I just swap out the original board with an aftermarket board with eyes?

It can be done with some soldering.

For starters, that body will not allow for any electronic drop in kits, if I'm not mistaken.
What tools do you have at your disposal? Those tools will drastically change the approach to anyone providing help or guidance.

I use a CNC mill to make room for all of the components. A few of my builds squeezed in a 9v, solenoid, board and all the periphery user interface components. The current build only calls for the solenoid and board to be in grip.

Yes i know it will require modifying the clamshells. I have a free standing drill press, dremel with numerous tips, misc hand tools. I do have a friend who works in a metal fab shop so anything beyond my skills or tools he can help with. There isn't a specific kit i'm looking for more anything I can get my hands on. I'd like to use the Tippmann Pro Shop ASA/LPR combo though

I have not used it myself, but I have read that they are not very consistent. I like the unit idea though. Post in the Tippmann forum about this item. You might get more experienced responses.

Most of the builds I've done has used the Jackhammer lpr. They seem to be the most consistant of the lpr's I've used. The last build I done was mounting a Etek 2 frame to a 98 with the e-bolt. Works really well. The hardest part is finding the Tippmann low pressure chambers & vert. adapters. If you can still find them, a modified vert. adapter & valve with the low pressure chamber can get a 98 with the e-bolt kit running around 180-190psi.

have any pictures of setups you've done? i've had no trouble finding vert adapters (put expansion chambers on loaner guns all the time) but never tried looking for a LPK. i'm not too worried about efficiency (correct me if i'm wrong but thats basically the point of running lower pressure?)

I'll see if I can find some old pictures. Running a Tippmann at low pressure really doesn't change the efficiency much with the e-bolt. I've also got some video somewhere of a 98 Custom with our V4 vertical feed mod and custom LCD board with eyes shooting at 15bps ramp.
