Riddle Me This

Ok. so today at the field i noticed that my g6r has been all over the place chrono wise. I first chrono'd it in at 275-280, and pretty inconsistent. I played all day and re chrono'd it and it was 255-270, with spikes of 270-285. So i came home after playing and took it all apart cleaned and re lubed everything (rammer, hpr, lpr) put it all back together and set my pressures at 180 and 70-75 (cant get exact because the lines arent in correct increments from 40-80). then re chrono'd with the same thing. one ball will be at 285 and the next at 255. dwell is currently at six. Is this just a battery problem or what? I was going to run the lurker method on it, but forgot to fill up my damn tank before i left the field. I have under 1000 left in my tank at the moment.

*EDIT*
To clarify, I used 3 different types of paint, and never mixed them. All midnight at one time, All xball at one time, and all JT at one time. Not "skittles". The results were consistent with each type of paint.

Change the battery, how is your paint-to-bore match on your barrel?

well I've used 3 different kinds of paint. some was rolling through (xball and JT) some i had to blow through (midnight) but it was the same results with the xball and midnight.

Try upping your lpr some. A lot of G6Rs (mine included) are happier around 80. You will have to find the lowest lpr setting that will allow you to shoot consistent. Also double check that you are doing your reg maintenance right with your manual (not saying you arent).

well neither worked. all bumping the lpr did was make it break paint in the barrel and kick like a mule. i guess i'll have to hold off till i can get mor air to sweet spot it.

Shooting skittles won't help

Get decent paint and match it to your barrel kit. Then try again.

Your gauges could be off and giving a false reading.

But replace the rear ram oring and make sure the oring is seated correctly on the ram cap.

I'd be suspect of your pressure tester gauges. An adjustment to 80psi in the LPR shouldn't make it act like that. That tells me that something's awry with the gauges.

i was not told when i got it. i've put 4 through it, but got it used. its been jumpy since i got it, and i never had a chrono or enough time to sweet spot it. I just attempted to sweet spot it though and ran out of paint. I had some problems with the procedure and kept re starting. but i wont go into that. Fail on my part.

Honestly i had those chrono readings on 2 g6rs i have owned and the problem is in the solenoid. The solenoids on this g6rs where dry and had no dow 55 on them from factory.Re lube your solenoid and you should be good to go. Also make sure you are using name brand 9v batterys like duracell, energizer, ect because that leads to serious fps issues on the g6r. Also make sure you put lubrican on your bolt so it can cycle properly in the breech. Also make sure your tank reg is working correctly and not spiking which will result in fluctuations and bad recharge rate to get proper fps readings.Hope this helps camarada!

The solenoid is supposed to be relatively dry. NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER lube any part of the solenoid with Dow 55. It will cause the o-rings to swell and seize up in the solenoid. You can MAYBE use Dow 33 or a little bit of oil (I'd use AKA Extreme Lube or KC Troublefree) if you feel you need to make the o-rings more viscous but you should NEVER lube any part of the solenoid with 55.

It's not particularly difficult but there are several very tiny, very critical parts that can easily get lost if you're not careful.

I use dow 33 but only a TINY amount, like just enough to make the oring look slightly wet.

Using too much will make your noid get gunked up and need to be cleaned again. As for taking it apart it isn't hard but you need to be exceedingly careful in the middle section not to lose the two tiny pins.
