Tippmann has released several new products at this week's Paintball Extravaganza. One of their new markers is the FT-12 Flip-Top Rental Marker. The FT-12 is designed with field operations in mind. It's new flip-top design makes repairs a breeze.
The FT-12 features a metal body with a matte finish.
The two halves of the FT-12 are held together by a nut in the front of the marker. To disassemble the marker, you simply remove the barrel, depress a button, and unscrew the nut.
Once the nut is removed, the entire top of the marker can be lifted away, exposing the internals of the marker.
The overall design of the internals is similar to other Tippmann models.
The trigger assembly is similar to the A5. A hinged wire clip helps keep the assembly together.
The powertube assembly has been redesigned.
The feedneck features a dovetail design and uses a lever for retention.
One nice design touch is that the ball detent can be removed without fully disassembling the gun. Sliding the foregrip forward exposes the ball detent.
