Every day I'm in the marine corps I'm losing money. My old job was a backroom worker at target and I was pulling $700 a week. Now I make $500 a week, work more hours, have minimal freedom, and am treated like a 5 year old. I could be doing a lot better things than being in the marine corps. Being a marine means **** all to everyone but marines.

You might have less take home pay, but I know target wasn't giving you full medical, full dental, full vision insurance, a place to live and food on your plate.

Terrible question to ask online. Army Is going to say army. Marines are going to say Marines. Me being a Marine of 5 years I would say think about college first. Yeah joining the military is job security, but you make a lot less and you don't have many freedoms. Also if you do end up joining I would think about a job you can do outside of the army/Marines to get experience in. Just my two cents on things.

It's people like you that make me hate the Marines.
Seriously, what are you doing with your life?

You play with them? Do you really...
As far as the thread goes if I had to do it over again I still would have joined but that doesn't stop me from *****ing about it.
This is how I would weigh my options if I were graduating high school
Full Ride to College > Reserves plus College > Going in Debt for College > Active Duty > Uneducated Work Force

That *** juice of a paragraph says otherwise. And ****ing spare me the 2nd part. You sit at an airfield while other people put their lives on the line.

I guess I am also defending you and this country at my cushy job with DHS. Everyone here should thank me. The homeland is secure because of our efforts, go about your lives without fear citizens.
Also, thank your local TSA screeners. They are on the front lines against terrorism.

I play live-action games of "Where's Waldo" most of the time. It's pretty fun, you should try it.

I'll thank you sooner than I will for hutchmat.
I'm convinced that 90% of the military does absolutely nothing of benefit. This 90% includes bomb jugglers.
Those same people are usually the first ones to act like they're something special. I think they're compensating, honestly.

...and because of this post, I think you're a *******.
A mother****ing retard.
Three crayons short of a toolbox.
Honey-Boo-Boo's inbred cousin.
Elmer Fudd.
And most of all: A Fool.
What do fools do? Fools rush in. You rushed into this subforum and thread without any ****ing clue who you're talking to. Take me for example.... I wrote the ****ing FAQ for this forum. Do you really think I'm spending my days eating hot pockets in my mother's basement? No.
You know what I did today? I programmed PRC-150's and learned wavelength theory, in regards to HF field expedient antennas (note: I'm not a comm guy, I just like knowing ****). I also was seen about recurring medical **** I'm going through from my time with a TF in Afghanistan. That was my day.
Everyone here who posts regularly is in the military, or recently got out. Your insult at people being fat and nasty was directed at three grunts and a Navy dude. You're the least-highspeed person in the conversation, bro.
You could have easily just looked at some of the other threads in this forum, and noticed that the same people post over and over. You could have checked the stickies, and matched our screen names with (very old and outdated, but whatevs) info about us. But no, you rushed in, claimed you were awesome, and called us names.
Name calling hurts my feelings.
Sooo.... **** you, you boot POG mother****er.

Oh...ok, just checking.
You made me remember something funny= back in 03, as an e5, I posed some people off and got temporarily booted from the PRP. I got sent down to the mess decks to help the cooks and wash dishes. I put ranked 3/4ths of the cooks and dubbed myself the food service assistant leading pretty officer.
