GoG Envy is great for your price range. If you can, get it with the blackheart!

There's a reason why fields use Tippmann 98s, they're work horse markers and get the job done. You could probably get an upgraded barrel and stay under $200, which is really all you need to get the job done. Spyders don't seem to have very good resale value, Tippmanns are a different story.

The GOG enmey $130, Dangerous Power E1 $190, Empire ER3 $75, US army carver one $100, and of course as said above the Envy and the 98 custom.

get an azodin kaos, its reliable, easy to fix and clean, and has standard threads all over, 90 bux, tippmanns are a paint to clean, and spyders dont upgrade as easily. kaos has the locking feed neck, so any hopper u have stays tight...just read reviews and youtube some videos

Kaos on the low end, Blitz in the middle and GOG envy on the high end.
Agree on the Tippmann, yea it will always shoot no matter what but they suck to clean up and are heavy and just not good except they always shoot. Think of it as a really slow, bad handling car that always starts.
My gf has a Spyder Sonix and the parts quality is not as good as the Azodin Kaos. Both cost about the same. From that experience, I would definitely pick an Azodin over a Spyder.

Gotcha. Yeah I'll be selling a near-mint 98c in about a week, it is stock, besides drop-forward, and e-chamber. Both those parts run about $30-40 each.
I'll take $105 shipped for the marker. I got pics if needed, just PM me.

The ER3 for 75 bucks you can't beat it. It's easy to clean and maintain.Very reliable. It can be field stripped with out any tools. It's got clamping feed neck. Q And since its owned by Empire you will have top notch customer service. With the rest of the 100-125 dollars you could buy an upgraded barrel. You could upgrade the regulator, switch to macro lines, put a different Asa on there. You could buy and upgraded mask if you need one. Or even use that money to go play. I mean if you want to buy a $200 dollar marker than go for it. I was just showing you that you could buy a cheaper marker and spend the other money on anything else

Azodin Kaos D
Azodin Kaos Pump
Empire ER3.
Why?
All are the most reliable, versatile, and well designed mechanical markers available with some of the best CS backing them. You can't go wrong with any and any of them will teach you quickly the dynamics of a paintball marker without leaving you with "a pile of ****"
I have the ER3 and had a KP and Kaos.
I've upgraded the **** out of them and I'll be honest, they're more fun that most of what's available today. No kidding.
You just feel better shooting them at people.
ER3 is by far the most durable and reliable of the bunch, but it has literally the worst stock barrel. That's kind of what you get for a $75 gun, but its price and its Spyder threading make it really easy to get a cheap highend barrel.
As in DYE Ultralite, with a .684 back and a 14" tip of any color, for less than $60, whereas if the gun is cocker or SP/DLX threading, it'd run you about $110.

What type of marker are the people you're playing against/with using? It never hurts to shoot the most common marker as if something does go wrong, others may know how to fix it as well as may have spare parts. Also, if your friends are all using Tippmann's and you show up with that mini, you are going to be a bit of the odd man out. Same was as if your friends all shoot tournament grade markers and you show up with a mechanical Spyder, you are going to be starting at a disadvantage.
T begin playing I would try to find a marker that lets me fit in with the crowd the easiest. Once you know what you're doing you can make changes or buy a new marker from there.

200? Heck go on ebay and see if you can grab an old etek 1, or intimidator, or an older proto rail even an ion......something like that. The older high end guns can go pretty cheap these days. They'll still be way better than anything suggested above, even though those suggestions are all good ones.
