Help identifying angel

Okay so I saw this poor thing in a pawnshop sitting there and I paid little attention to it. Months passed and I decided to finally pick it up and try to give it a good home. I payed 90 bucks for it and as far as I can tell, it powers on, the solenoid clicks and everything. I was just wondering what exactly it is. My interests were kinda sparked because the eye covers are ego ones and the barrel looks like an ego barrel. There's even a spot where a e should be on the barrel. Is this just a part swapped one or is this something unusual. Also it's in pretty poor shape but internally it's fine. Could the nation offer tips on what to replace to get it in tip top shape?. Thanks for all the help!

03 Speed. The missing jewel on the barrel should be an Infinity barrel emblem. The eyes are add-ins, due to the 03 Speed not coming with break beam eyes from the factory - the Eblade eye cover types were pretty common. It also looks like you've got a 2k3 LCD frame on there with a Lasoya trigger - my own favorite of the LCD triggers.

Add air, paint, and targets, and enjoy a good Angel!

I'm sorry for being a noob but what exactly is a predator mod? Also I need a low pressure tank correct?

Its an 03 speed. Thats the stock barrel not eclipse. Those are eblade cocker eye covers not ego. It does have an eye mod as stated above but with out seeing the board I couldnt tell you whats in there

that definitely is a predator board...

you're just missing one thing pump, his feedneck is missing a retainer cuff, the retaining grommet, and probably all his o-rings... gonna need a new feedneck before anything...

Predator mod is basically just an upgraded board to run on 9v rather than the rechargeable batteries that require an angel charger, and in addition to that some milling for eyes to go along with the board.

On a side note, what's the difference between the 03/04 speed?

The earliest 03 Speeds shipped with a 5 volt solenoid coil and suffered shootdown and FSDO because the battery couldn't provide enough juice to drive the 'noid properly. They swapped it for a 3 volt coil very shortly thereafter. 03 and 04 just refer to the production years. Aside from the few remaining 03's that might actually still have the 5v coil, there's no difference whatsoever.

It came with a ghetto feedneck that was like a spacer and an oring and I figured it wasn't stock or good as a feedneck at all so I trashed it.

Might wanna flip open the breech and check and see if the breech seal is still there. They have a tendency to go missing it seems.

Dang Hobbes, just looked at my IR3 myself cause I never knew that and it appears I'm missing mine >.< I didn't see an individual seal for it on fixmyangel... do you think it'd be included in the Universal Seal Pack they have?

The original trigger on the original 90 frame on the 03 speed was poo. The predator boards are legit. If its shooting good DON'T go tinkering with the board. Try some hot glue e for the breach seal

Really? Just put a ring of hot glue around the ridge where the breech seal would have gone? That's actually a good idea, thanks I'll try that! Never realized the seal was even missing since it shot fine as it was, wonder if it'll make a difference

You'll see slightly better efficiency with the seal in place. On the IR3 it's just a round o-ring, so you can probably find a suitable replacement at an o-ring supplier. The Speed and higher use a square shaped gasket.

Okay sorry to keep asking stupid questions but does this gun run on hp? I read that it had a hp solenoid but the battery was unable to power it so they corrected it in the 04's so does this mean I have to use lp? Or is there a way to run it on hp?

I think the issue you are talking about caused a problem where the first shot was lower FPS than following shots.

The gun is meant to run on LP tanks, some seem to handle them better than others in terms of getting the FPS to your fields limits. You can also try the Minireg mod to get the gun to work better with a HP tank or replace the regulator altogether.

My 03 speed HATED high pressure. Lesson learned because of that marker. With ninja around its really easy to run a good LP setup. There adjustable reg is under 40 bux last I checked.
