You're old school if:
You remember the PMI-2 coming out and being one of the best guns on the market. It had a non-removable barrel, but you could pay to have an extension soldered to the end!
You remember when having auto-trigger made your gun shoot faster than everyone elses.
You thought the guy who went onto the field with a 100 round hopper instead of the 40 rounders that everyone else had was compensating for something.
You've ever worn a 'top of the line' mask made completely out of metal.
Some rich dude with a semi-auto showed up to your favorite field for the first time, and no one wanted to play with him.
10 friends would go in together on one case of paint.
You've ever seen someone climb a tree to get a perfect shot.
You've played in a tournament wearing a black jogging suit.
You always wanted to own an Apex Elite.
You have 3 elbows sitting in your closet and you're trying to find a use for them.
You've ever had a ref call a timeout because someone's gun started leaking.
What's this new speedball thing? How do they make a speedball go faster than a normal paintball?
Your backup gun was a slingshot.
Your mask has hairspray residue on the inside.

Dave Youngblood, he started Dave Youngblood Enterprises, more widely known as DYE.
And I do have a 68 Special with the VL90 hopper like that.

Actually people...his real name is Dave DeHahn. Youngblood is a nickname and those who really know him just call him "Blood".
The gun hes holding is a Tippmann .68 Special with a VL100 loader and a JT Elite with whipper-snapper mask. The barrel was staged for Al Iba's ad and Bolld never played with it (that I ever saw). Dave got his start in paintball as a machinist making barrels for a famous gun-maker and later married Ronda of JT fame. Can you name the gun-maker?

Earon Carter (Carter Machine)

EDIT: Earon Carter also designed the Dye barrels we see today, such as the Boomstick and the Ultralite.

you're ol skool when...

- it was rare to see nitro tanks
- guns were angle fed rather than vertical fed
- you know about palmer's pursuit shop
- your gun weighed 20 lbs (i miss my vm-68 magnum)
- case of paint was 70-80 for average paintballs
- you had a single piece dye boomstick that weighed as much as today's markers
- masks didn't have thermal lenses and you would see fogged up lenses left and right
- you were laughed at because you wore jerseys
- you played paintball twice a year because it was so F*CKING EXPENSIVE!

If you ever got to play the Paintballers Guild in Stroudsburg PA

If you ever caught Steve Davidson cheating like a mother at a PPA big game!
