Hello everyone, I am a sophomore at Lincoln-Way East and am trying to get my school to add paintball to its curriculm so i made an online petition among other things. i was hoping to get some sigs and a few comments that are cool-headed and what a school board would want to hear.
So please help me get paintball in my school's curriculm by going to this website and signing http://www.petitiononline.com/210pb/petition.html
Thank you
Sean

My expirience thus far:
Me and my friend Alex asked the principle of our private catholic school if we could have a paintball club. He thought on it for a few seconds, and said "If you get 10 members, and an advisor, then I do not see why not." Now we plan to have a meet every couple weeks or so, and possibly try to get a team running. Ill update once we get everything situated. We have around 15 members, we just need an advisor now. We asked him yesterday.

Now, for anyone whos school allowed them, I'm doin the same, I got an advisor, a bunch of kids etc., but the VP wants me to find info, paperwork, etc. from another school that did it, to piggyback off of. Would anyone here be willin to help me out in that regard?

I was acutally trying to think of starting a pb teem at my HS too. Me and a couple of freinds at our HS pb club might try. Probably to fail. Even tho Paintball is a lot safer than football or wresteling.

You might need to ask permission to use your schools name or mascot.

I finished High School in 2002, for my last 2 years every so often we would have a teacher student game, that my friends and I organized. It wasn't huge maybe 6 of us and 4 or 5 teachers, but it was something. The teacher's loved it and the whole staff knew about it. We were pictured in the front of my sophmore yearbook at our loacal field. We also took video of the event, and after editing it my English teacher at the time made everyone of his classes watch it the day we gave it to him. One history teacher liked it so much, he made a field at his house and invited us to play there. We still talk to him to this day. Best part is, it all started by us having a paintball mask in class ( a friend who had borrowed it was returning it to another when our english teacher saw it, he put it on and walked down the hall getting odd looks from whoever he passed, he got a kick out of it). Point is find some teachers who would be interested, do what you can to get them out to the field and set up, then just let everyone have fun. From there they will spread the news to other staff and it might just catch on. At least then when you bring up the idea of a club, you will have some staff back-up.

a club can be a group of people that can discuss it after school, play together, start a team, or even a roster.

Sounds like its going to be awhile till schools finally agree to have paintball as a sport. I think one of the biggest problems is going to be parents... Because i think High Schools have like PTA meetings or w.e where parents go and talk about school.... And alot of peoples parents see paintball = getting hurt. Money can also be a big problem... unless you have like local fields supporting and sponsoring schools.(that would be cool)

well im a sophmore at celebration high school in florida. and when i was a freshman, on the brochure i had recieved it said their was a paintball team. i was extremely excited, but it wasnt until summer that i really got into paintball (tourneys etc.). but i never heard anything about the team. and it started to die. but now i wanna get into starting a school team, because their is loads of people who play at my school. and even a pro (plays for miami raiders). but i havent really seen much people who would take this seriously. but ill have to ask around for support. now heres the thing that i think would get us a field.
We live in a town that has a paintball shop 2 miles away literally. we have a huge lot of dead grass that can easily fit a x-ball field. we live in florida so its mostly sunny. there was some type of paintball team before so that could be a basis. and theres a "ghetto" woodsball field that we could practice on thats right down the street, like walkable distance. and finally think we could fit it in school budget.
please give me any pointers you have.
