What I also found that can cause this is the poppet seal at the front of the valve. Make sure the screw is not loose, but don't over torque it either.
Check the poppet seal itself as well. Make sure it is clean and not damaged. If it still leaks, I would replace it.
I would also make sure the air flow through the seal screw and poppet is not plugged up with dirt.
As for lube, I would be a bit more generous with it in the valve (not in the pilot housing). I make sure the poppet and spring is lubed.
Also check or replace the valve body o-rings.

Your saying the poppet seal can cause low velocity/this issue?
The hole is clean and the seal is undamaged.The screw was given a dab of loctite when I first cleaned it .
