South Tampa Paintball won the 2013 Fintech Business Plan Competition based on a rousing presentation by Casey Henry, a finance major at USF. At 21, she was the youngest competitor and only undergraduate student...

Great story, the big issue is the relationship they are building with their City and community.

I have been watching this and hoping for the best for them.

We will be making the trip up to check it out.

STP you ladies need to have a presence here on the Nation, start a thread over in the Florida section if you have not yet.

Curious to see their presentation and forecasts. She beat out a company selling excess medical supplies to Africa and clean medical waste disposal company, so it must have been really damn good.

27% profit margin ($39 - 50k), so estimating about $165k of revenue. Assuming entry is $25 and a case is $50, everyone gets at least a case, and open only on weekends. Then they need about 25 person per day open. Profit margin seems a little high imo, but then again, I don't know the various expenses for a field.

Congrats on the award, but catering only to tournament players is a risky move. With CFP being no more than an hour away they had better have a damn good facility and plenty of reasons for people to come to them and not CFP.

Best luck, it's a cut throat industry. Would like to see it succeed.

Hey CraigAL32! Thank you for the suggestions. We greatly appreciate it. It takes a while for PB Nation to approve fields on the forum. As soon as they legitimized it, I started posting tidbits here and there. There is a thread of the Florida section. Enjoy your week and I look forward to keeping you in the loop

Replace "tournament" with "competitive." Liberate your mind from the connotations associated with "tournament" paintball. There is a huge untapped competitive paintball market.

Unfortunately, my attorney strongly advises against this due to the confidential nature of business plans

Thaannnkkk yoouuu Thats been the biggest thing paintball has needed is a class of ballers that approach it as a sport instead of just the divide between hobbyist and tournament players.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
