edit: the more i look at that map the more i think it cannot be correct. skyrim was supposed to be something like 9km wide (i think, might have been square km but im not sure) where GTA V was calculated to be around 45 square km. i donno, maybe it is, here is a pic of the GTA 4 map (in black) over los santos

Guys this is insane! Ive been following the GTA V Mapping Project that has been going on for about 2 years.

This is the official map next to the fan made map that was created pretty much from scratch via referencing screenshots/trailers that have been released.

It just blows my mind how accurate the fans were. to my knowledge, the only portion of the map they didnt do any mapping for was the city, because it was released in an ad as a blueprint.

That kinda makes me think it was done by someone with leaked information, seems way too detailed to have been based on the trailers I've seen at least.

it was all based on information pulled from trailers, screenshots, and cross referenced to find locations of towns, mountains, rivers, etc...

I linked the whole thread. though its over 800 pages long, all the progress is there. I know at one point there was a leaked image of the outline of the map that was an icon for an achievement, but the map had this shape before that was ever leaked.

Edit: This was the icon leaked a few weeks ago. The map already had this shape by time the icon was leaked though

I pre ordered through the Microsoft store.

Don't know if ill get my blimp but they have 1600 MS points (ie 20 bucks in the new real currency) free with preorder.

Couldn't pass it up.
