Apologies
My deepest apologies for the faulty fill stations. These were purchased new less than a month ago, we hooked them up and tested them before the event and they worked fine. We will be sending them back and buying either push button or toggles for future events. Again sorry about that one!!
I want to thank everyone for coming out. Hope everyone had an overall good experience. Keep in mind this was our 1st SEPS as host and refs, I will listen carefully to any suggestions for improvements, like moving the dumpsters, that was a little rough also.
AXPS will be 2 yrs old this Oct. Not making excusses for shortcomings just saying we are committed to the SEPS series and will improve every year! Again thank you for playing SEPS and @ AXPS.
Sincerely
Darin Tapp

It was my first time at AXPS and it is a great facility. I observed how it was run, the refs, fill stations, etc. all day and I think it was a good show.
The reffing staff was organized. All refs had assigned duties. As always, there were a couple refs that were substandard but the other refs ran all over the field to help make the calls. The rules were enforced as they were supposed to be and I did not see any bias. Thanks ref staff.
The fields were as promised. Non current psp layouts to keep the bias down. The fields were of approved size and layed out well. Good job.
The registration and other things went smoothly. The air stations were as frustrating for some players as for Darin. Things like this happen but they worked through it. If any SEPS event field needs a station to use in the future, lemme know and you can use mine.
I saw very little drama on the field. The spectating area on the hill was awesome and a nice feature.
Overall, the event was ran great in my opinion. I am excited to attend future events at AXPS and Darin proved to be able to put on a good event for SEPS.
Keep the good, bad and ugly reviews coming. The SEPS is committed to having open dialouge with players to help improve the series and events. If you have a comment that you don't want public, please feel free to contact me or pm me. Or call the field owner, Brent or Kevin. Thanks guys,
Mark

[quote=mhookit;60399732]this was my first seps back due to surgery and i have to say darin and the axps crew did a hell of a job, except for the fill stations. but i have to say that darin stayed on top of the air and kept it going all day. only had a couple of reffs that were under par but the reffing was by far one of the best so far. and it would be a good idea to get rid of that smell, i know i was gagging all day from that smell. we played like crap but had a good time and i give the event a 7 out of a 10. i would like to nominate darin to host a 2nd event this year and put the bowling green indoor back in the seps and if that is not possible, then hopefully we can add him in next year or something...

At the end of the games when we pointed out the still wet hits that were definitely not "bunker rub" because they were not smeared and were still basically oval in obvious places, we were told either they were rub or old or to leave the field without any reasoning. For one old hits are the players responsibilities. One of our players was called for one and we took it knowing it was our fault to walk on the field with the hit. Secondly we watched as a player pulled the flag with a hit on his leg that was "old" after he came out of the snake. he was told by a teammate that he was hit and he dropped the flag and walked away to be called clean by the refs. I don't know about any of your experiences but wet hits on the leg tend to be rubbed off going into and working in the snake. The most frustrating part is to know that refs seemed unwilling or scared to make the calls. If you miss hits fine, but if you don't make the effort to make checks when they are called, and then when pointed out after they cost a team a game that the hits are still there, HOW CAN YOU STILL CALL THE PLAYER CLEAN!?!
Sadly this was the worst experience I have had. I was disappointed just as much or more that the number of players I saw that played on or made hits disapear or made refs physically pull them from games with obvious hits they should have called themselves out on.
I am just as proud my team didn't win this event as if we had. Because we know that we played clean and suffered for it.
Also I would like to thank the ref on the D side on the far end of field one. He was the one that ran the length of the field to check players right in front of other refs that were not interested in doing their job. I saw him many times do so. And he pulled me a couple of times for hits that I didnt know I had and would be hard to catch (end of a tank cover, between pods). Excellent job! I am sure there were a few others that did well too, but he was the only one I had saw.

Some of the refs were garbage (mainly field 1), no way around it. It was obvious to me and spectators that they were watching the games rather than reffing them. Sh!tty reffing is bound to happen, but after constant complaints throughout the day and nothing changed that's pretty lame. Other than that it was a fun event.

This is not intended to be a criticism of AXPS, just a product of hind-sight, but I would make push-button or toggle-type fill stations be a requirement for hosting a SEPS tournament. It is just a matter of volume.

As a spectator for this event, I have to say that the location was really nice (except for the smell). It was great to watch the games from the hill. I enjoyed going out to AXPS, and would love to go again. Great grass, good layouts, and all around good accommodations for players and spectators, and only minor improvements needed for next time.

It was not a hit, he was simply was kneeling in a pile of paint which would look like a hit. i myself was the player who told him to drop the flag for a possible penalty, the reasons for your upset was that because we take great pride in pratice and knowing all tournament rules we always check ourselves before a flag hang from prevenative measures to ensure that we dont loose any points in the process of winning.
It is incredably humorous to know that there are a select players/teams who want us taken out of the S.E.P.S series because of our winning streak. I am making a point to say right now that the reason for us winning our events is because we practice three times a week! we have quality practice with far more advanced players that run us into the ground. We strive to be the best team and we work hard for what we have accomplished. To know that there are select players/teams that want to "overshoot" us and try to inflict pain on us makes me SMILE. For all teams in the next events please overshoot us all untill we are off the field. This is paintball, not golf, we come to win and if you want to shut us down you must take us out or we wont stop. I promise to all teams that we will win the next three events and we will take home the series to asylum. I would like to thank all people responsible for our success. I would like to thank my sponsers for all the help and equipment provided to us. I would like to thank Paintball Asylum, and Asylum Extreme Sports for thier knowledge and help into molding us into killers. And Special thanks to

One other suggestion would be to get some taller netting. There were a lot of paintballs landing on the hill where we parked.

I agree with red4. I truly doubt that anyone cares to read about claims of cheating and talking about winning paintball. Help improve the league here take care of business on the field. I appreciate the ref that followed me down the field when I got paint on my hopper from a bunker to make sure that I didn't get called out for it. That's good reffing anywhere.

I thought the reffing was legit, I thought I had a bad call on myself, when I believed it was bunker rub but after watching the videos I was shot out and the ref got it right. I didn't watch all the games but the ones I did watch reffing was great. I did hear "Check his barrel" " check his foot" those are stupid calls. If you are shooting at a barrel or a foot, you need to reposition yourself for a better kill not try to convince someone you actually hit someone there.
Skills you are going to get your chance to ref I hope you can live up to the high standards you put on everyone else.

LOL cheating, its called winning the game by shooting you all off break, its not our fault you guys are dinosoars that are about to turn into fossils and cannot win your gun battles and have to call any bunker rub a hit from the dead box to try and get points on a technicallity.
AXPS
Darren, you hosted a great event. The fill stations need work, and yes your netting was way too short, invest into getting some larger polls to support more netting. You need any help setting up netting or anything just give me a call.
Refs
You guys did a great job, some of the refs were hesitant on making calls but when they did they were accurate and on point good job guys.

Alright guys, take the drama and bragging to your own threads. Feedback and comments here only please.
I know we all get riled up at events and things happen, but either lets deal with it there or on a flaming type thread. thanks,
