etek will be simpler to maintain , will have better efficiency, and be easier to fix. but i do love how compact the pm8 is

etek > 2k6 timmy. btw the "nice proto barrel" is worth like $5 and it is essential a poor mans UL and just by hearing that is sorta hears like its been whored out

didlewine, i say go with the etek 3. Ive shot both and the etek just feels better to shoot. My friend with the etek has never, EVER had problems with it. The pmr is another story. You really can't go wrong with planet eclipse. If you're still stuck, do your research.
as for you, bustaflexon, I say go with the pm8. I can't really speak from personal experience, but I do know that everyone ive spoken to at the field with it loves it. Phenomenal marker for the price. It basically shoots like a dm9/8 for a lot cheaper.

So I'm tryna decide between buying the Etek 3 or an 09 Ego from ANS. Yes, I know most people would say Ego without a doubt, but the thing is, wouldn't the markers ANS stocks be really old now? I mean the marker was launched nearly a year and a half back, so wouldn't they have been sitting on a shelf real long? And I choose ANS because they got colors that other stores aren't offering. Good idea? Band idea?

In relation to the age of the markers, some of the colour schemes that ANS have were not available when the Ego9 was launched, so while an Ego9 in one of the original colours could be over a year old (I don't think it is 18 months yet), some of them couldn't possibly be that old.
If these markers have never been displayed (I'm not sure off the top of my head if ANS actually have a retail location, or if it is all online) then they should be wrapped in cellophane anyway, and protected from dust.
Even if they were old and/or exposed to dust, a fresh battery, and a quick clean of the rammer and regs is all that should really be necessary.

etek2 = 06 ego architecture
etek3/ego09= evolutions of the 07. unibody (no frm or rammer housing). The etek3 is a simpler version of the ego9

Actually, the Etek3 has the integrated FRM, but still has the separate rammer housing, and has the valve guide integrated in to the rammer housing, rather than having a seperate valve guide like the Egos from '07 onwards. So, construction wise, the Etek3 stilll isn't the same as an Ego7.
The difference is that the new rammer housing/valve guide is much smaller than the old versions (here, compared to the rammer housing/valve assembly from an '06 Ego) and uses the newer style Ego rammer, rather than the old Etek specific rammer.
Pballer3223 - I would suggest having a read of the two "Truth about Eteks" threads stuck at the top of this forum, which include direct comparisons about the technical features of the three markers you mention.

alrite, so i'm looking for a mid-end marker, now my friend plays for a college and everyone has an ego and planet eclipse makes, but he has an upgraded ion, that can be even upgraded more, i was wondering which one would be the best for me right now? ego 09-10, etek 3, or upgraded ion?

I would say just make the bump to the etek3. If money is the issues and the ion is a darn good price then get the ion but you will eventually want to go to the etek or better. I was running an ion and just snagged a etek3 LT and the difference is amazing. No its not an ego but is still a dang good marker and I think the LT's are like $475.

I can't decide. Etek 3 Lt or 2010 PMR.
Pro's and Con's of both would be appriciated and why you chose the one you chose.
