As has been said, looking up from an incredibly bad situation. And it can also be said that Bush's economic policies have nothing to do with our economic gains. He has done some incredibly stupid things, such as put tariffs on many foreign products, the worst of which was steel. He tariffed steel because his friends in the US steel business couldn't compete, and in turn as prices of steel in the US rose because of the tariffs the hundreds of companys that use steel to manufacture products were hit with higher unit costs, meaning less profit. You would expect a republican to know that protectionism is bad for the economy...

I'm interested to know why people think this. I can't think of anything much more unethical than forcing someone to have a child even if they don't want to. Even to take things scientifically, a fetus isn't considered a person until it is born.

I agree that Saddam was bad. But he also was of no threat to the united states. Any or all WMDs that WILL be found in Iraq are surplus from the Iran/Iraq war where WE gave Iraq weapons to fight Iran. I agree that liberating the Iraqis is a noble goal, and if Bush had approached the UN with that intention instead of some BS story about a weapons program I'm sure we would have had more allies. He lied to the American people, and for what purpose? Over 460 US lives were lost because GW has a vendetta against Saddam. As evidenced in Paul Oneil's (former US treasury secretary) new book, Bush had been looking for a reason to oust Saddam since day 1 of his presidency.

On this I know that different people will have different opinions and I can accept that. But to me, the whole purpose of the American public education system is to give every american a quality education. The way to do this is not by outsourcing education into the private market where it would be run by corporations that care about profits instead of teachers that are there to teach. The biggest problem with the voucher system is that it does more to help wealthy kids have their private school tuition subsidized then it does to help poor kids get a better education than a public school can provide. A poor family might not be able to pay a public school anything on top of the voucher allotment- how can a private school that recieves the same money-per-child do any better of a job educating than their public school counterpart? Actually, since the private school may not be a non-for-profit organization and it probably would actually recieve less money in the voucher than a public school would, it would end up having less money per student and would probably give a worse education.
On the other hand, a wealthy family could use the voucher money plus some of their own to get their child into the most expensive private schools, with some of that money coming from the government. Considering that this is taking money from the public school system, I view it a highly immoral.

Very true. The recession was a direct resultant of the dot-com bubble, which honestly had nothing to do with clinton. But I challenge you to find any Clinton economic policys that were bad. Especially anywhere near as bad as Bush's.

A school voucher is basically a government subsidation that you can choose to recieve if decide to op-out of the public schooling system. They are bad because of the reasons I outlined above.

Basically they don't believe in gun control. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing imo. I'm not even going to say that Americans need guns so that they can hunt. I'm just going to say that as Americans we deserve the right to defend ourselves in any means necessary.
