i wouldnt because if your at 500 to 550 shouldnt need it. if u make 600 to 1200whp and drag it then yes baller. i kant spel pepegee got to stick with the liberty for me. And if you plan at all to drive it on the street dont get a dog box.

I've heard and been suggested a few things now. Seems that some people say yeah get some ppg's from the start when making more power and others tell me to pick up a spare trans and if I need to, go with the upgrade later. So im assuming it is hit or miss with the k series transmissions?? Anyone else with experience?

also check syncrotechs stuff they have some things to help a stock trans . good luck man

they are very hit or miss. If anything Albins makes a helical gear set that still uses synchros.

My buddy shaun at QCP Gear has built one for an RSX. He used to work at IMW, still great friends.

here is his facebook page, has pics of the albins setup. I would message him. He is HondaBull on HT he made the write ups for trans teardown and rebuilding for B and K series.

From what it sounds he just builds the trans if you buy the gears, etc.Give him a call though, sounds like a good guy.

Shaun is and awesome guy. Should of said Corey sent you.

Basically he doesnt really stock anything, and does this all on the side. He can parts from anybody, synchrotech, Mfactory, quafe dealer, ppg, albins, Honda.


He is very very meticulous and anal when it comes to this stuff. And as of now he is my go to guy for transmission work. And pretty much everyone in the Honda community in my area uses him religiously.

He even checks most every trans with a window case.

Yeah he told me about how well Dereks tranny has been over the past few years at his power. So im set on running the stock trans for as long as I can.

Well Derek is a *****... and still wont WOT shift his car. and he is still on an open diff. Those are the reasons i think he hasnt broke one recently. Also he is on stock axles so that is the weak point. He has broken a couple axles recently on 3-4 shifts and 1-2. If he was on some axles, the next weakest link is the diff and trans.

I bust his balls all the time for still not running a ten with 600 plus hp lol. Another good friends of mine.

The K is done )))))) Got pictures on my camera, will get them up when ever I can.

In the mean time, the car is prepped for winter. Cleaned it, anti fogged the inside, rain repelanted the outside glass so no real need for wipers & no freezing windscreen in the morning / night. Brand new wiper blades.

And here is a picture with the RPF1's fitted just now. Taken on my phone.



Got a spoon rep rear spoiler to go on. And need to fit my VTI/SIR front lip asap. As the other one got ripped up lol.

Just dyno'd the car.

Made 190whp on a slight modified basemap. Crazy healthy engine! Can't wait til I get it dyno tuned to see what it makes!

Motors current spec:

Stock engine with 38k miles on.
DTR/SSR Header.
RBC Intake Mani.
Custom designed CAI proven to make 6bhp gains over Karcepts before a tune.
DC5 Flywheel.
