I wouldn't buy a baked marker that I didn't get to shoot and see that it holds air first.

There is no way to tell if a Marq has two eyes or four eyes from the outside. You would have to remove the eye covers and actually look.
Baking messes with the tolerances horribly. If only something minor like the eye covers, feedneck ring, or grip frame were baked then it's not a big deal. But if the body or a reg was baked then forget it. There is a chance something is off with the marker and it could leak without repair.
Pretty much with baking, you don't want to do it at all honestly but people will still do it. So if it's done it should only be done on something that won't affect the tolerances of the marker like eye covers, feednecks, grip frames, etc. As soon as you start doing the body or regs you run the chance of a tolerance expanding too much or contracting and damaging the marker. Not only that but if a company sees that the marker is baked they generally will not repair it because it's a 'do it yourself' home job and not professionally done like an anodize in which they can control tolerance changes to an extent.

Eyes turn violet when a ball is present, so you have 2 eyes. There is no way to tell that it is baked. It sounds like he has already tried to lie to you on a few things, I would probably guess that it is baked. Like tokay said I would avoid that at all costs.
