Why no EOTM?

So...several different sections have Gun of the Month. Any reason there's no such animal in the Ego section?

Somebody tried to get one up back in July (?) I think but it never followed through. I think I has to do with the mods having to administer it and then coordination of judges panel/committee, and the like.

One of the "other" sections doesn't have a mod running the contest. Just wondered if it was something the Ego community would be interested in or not.

That, and I don't think the ego community has as much "uniqueness" to its guns, not knocking on egos, I've loved them since they first came out over any other gun, it's just like look at the intimidator community. The amount of pl's and custom guns there is huge. Even the luxe community has a lot of custom color combos and annos. They both have a contest each month. Just my thoughts.

While I sent out my ego for a 3 color splash, most people just dont seem to do that, and egos tend to just be 2 solid colors. It wouldn't take long before every custom ego has won.

I wouldn't say that most egos that are bought used are trashed due to the lack of maintenance. Also very few egos have been truly customized most are just a factory parts swap with a few bolt on upgrades.
So I wouldn't say ego owners are better than others Because you should probably look through the Timmy IOTM OR shocker SOTM then you might see some truly custom guns that deserve a thread every month.

Now I'm not saying there's egos out there that aren't custom I can think of a csl that's annod not very good but clean and there's an 06 I believe that's sexy and seen weight loss on a Cnc but other than that I can't really think of a custom ego.

IMO Ego's have the same set of parts that people put on them, custom annos while nice to see aren't cool for a of the month contest. I'd rather see custom milling or custom built guns ala shockers, timmys, cockers etc. as opposed to a stock Ego8, with an anno and a pops asa.

I completely agree with that.

This is one of the few true custom egos so unless a lot more ppl have a project like this at home then I can see why no EOTM.

My thought was EOTM would "flush out" those custom guns. I don't have any custom...but I do have the factory acid Ego8s.

The reality is there probably aren't that many custom ego's because it's more expensive to get that custom work and with only a limited number it would go for maybe 2-3 months then die.

Egos simply are not customizable enough. Yeah you can mill the **** out of your ego like a few people on the nation have done, but how many people are going to do that? It'd be boring to see a bunch of ego's anno'd differently...just my $0.02

On another note, I feel that the lack of customization of egos is a testament to the product PE puts out. Customers do not feel the need to replace the stock components on eclipse markers.

I felt a little trollish, which is why I posted that. Back in the day before I ever got my Ego, I always saw the Ego owners as thinking they were better than others. I remember gawking and seeing others gawk at the guys playing with Egos and Egos were the gun to get. Now that I have one, there are younger players that gawk and it kinda cracks me up. I always tell them that it shoots just like their's does, one squeeze of the trigger and one ball.

I agree. Every gun I had before my Ego was just another gun. Now that I have my 11, kids always "gawk" at it or have something to say. But it does the same thing as their gun but is just more reliable :p.

IMO a custom anno really should belong in a "month " contest. If you got something more than a 2 tone color swap it is indeed very unique in the PE world.

I did it...no one wanted to do a prize so it faded
