Figured out that one of my exe files wasnt set to run as administrator. Fixed that and it seems to have fixed texture pack related crashes.

This texture pack is really making ME1 more enjoyable.

Upclose on things like Shep's suit and Garrus' face look outstanding. Further away they look a little over sharpened, but I can live with it.

Is this the moddb.com mass effect updated/improved texture mod that's downloaded in 9 parts? Could you please link me to the texture pack you are using?

Yes that is the one.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/mass-effec...provements-mod

Like I said, everything looks really great, but some of the items with a lot of fine lines (all the carbon fibre on sheps suit) look over sharpened... or something. I've tried playing with different anti-aliasing settings and things of that sort but hasnt really affected it much.

Thanks... I've downloaded Part 1 - 8... just have to download 9 and shadow fix. Still playing ME3 DLC... Almost done with Leviathan... next Citadel. Then I'll finish ME3 and apply ME1 texture pack.

Still not sure if I'm going to save Ashley... Not sure if my Femshep wants tentacle again.

Finally finished ME3 DLC... and finished game last night.

Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
Omega and Citadel was pretty long... probably because Vangard Shepard was so freaking hard to defeat...

^^^
Don't hightlight if you didn't play the Citadel DLC...

I've been listening to the ME soundtracks lately. This track alone may just make me have to play through the entire series again.

I keep getting random crashes, even without the textmod.. Pissing me off. Can't really even get very far because I forget to save, and have to play a small section over again.

I really want to just skip to ME3, but I don't want to play without a saved character.

Just download a character file that has the choices you wanted to make and skip right to ME2 or ME3.

I dont think that the mods are the cause. I had a few crashes prior to installing them

Mass Effect hates me.. decided to download a ME2 save so that I could play ME3 because I really want to play the DLC and I'm getting impatient.

Start playing the save.. game breaks before I even talk to the little boy when hes in the vent.. I think Anderson broke and is preventing the cut scene from triggering.

I'm about to give up.

@paintballking72

When I run ME1UITM as administrator and click "Next" it has the following default path to do the install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect

I presume I change this path to where Mass Effect was installed or where the binaries exist?

ie
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\mass effect

Ignore post. I figured it out. I have to admit, it is definitely an improvement and worth installing the texture pack... if you are playing on 1 monitor.

The reason why I wanted to replay the mass effect series is to play in surround... but the texture pack disables my widescreen fix. The un-modded version doesn't look that bad... so I might just play it with without the mod. However, I do recommend if you are playing on one monitor... it looks amazing.

Have you tried other imports? When I get off work I could probably make you an ME3 import if you wanted. Let me know the choices you want from ME1 and ME2 and I'll see what I can do.
