Nerf Mini-Vortex Bandolier

I am looking for a convenient and easily accessible way to carry Nerf rockets on the field for use in anti-tank. I am thinking bandolier of some type. Velcro straps for each rocket. Any thought, ideas, suggestions?

Thank you for your time

Thx, no one made or seen a bandolier type contraption? In my defense it is for my brother, not me.

The football is about 2" in diameter. The shaft I'd say is 1/4",

Agh I can't find it, well anyway its like this wrist band type thing that holds like 6 12g co2 carts and I figure you could put 3 on there with shafts and space them between 2 you know?

Velcro? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... You'd loose a few crawling through the brush. Also affect the flight path of the Nerf.

Options are to mount the adhesive the velcro hook on the shaft of the Nerf which is about 1/2" diameter and use the 2" wide Velcro so it would go completely around the Nerf and NOT affect flight. Getting it to stay stuck might be a problem.

Might want to use this for the bangoler loop and fasten the Nerfs to it with 1 or 2" Hook material sewn to it on one end. So you would just pull them off the strap and not have to attach velcro to the Nerf at all.

This might be useful. Two sewn to hold the Nerf and overlap say 3/4 inch. But the regular hook and loop might be cheaper and do the same job.
http://www.buyhookandloop.com/DisplayLoop.asp

Here ya go!!!!! :

http://www.sammonspreston.com/app.as...oduct&id=94977

6" wide 1/4" foam with velcro loop on both sides for your bandoler strap.

Use the 2" Hook to secure the Nerf shaft to it.

Do ya suppose this is the answer to my how to make a belt feed for my autoloader? Just wind two strips of 2" hook and loop up on a pair of powered rollers and drop a Nerf into the breech? Photo cell in the breech stops the motors.

Hmmmmmmmm.....

Plan B:
You need a tube to hold Nerfs that you can make into a bandoler?

An ultra light tube would be this.

Link at: https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3353197

2" schedule 40 will work but would get heavy real quick.

MAYBE the schedule 20 Thinwall if you don't trim your fins. Just checked. The Nerfs would slide out. You would have to make Nerf Detent to hold them in place to save the weight between schedule 20 and 40. Let me know if you want to go that way. Can tell you how.

We were discussing a belt fed autoloader and how to construct tubes into a belt. Basically what you are looking for but without the small tolerances we have to deal with.

Option for you are.

Zip Ties around the outside with a small 1/4" O ring between each tube.

Tube netting and weave them together using a piece of wire with the ends folded over to hold it in place.

You could just drill a a pair of holes through one side and use a pop rivet gun to secure the tubes to some canvas, fabric, leather, etc. Use reinforcing washers on the backside of the canvas so they won't pull through so easily. The pop rivet would stick up quite a ways unless you fudged a bit and countersunk the inside some. Now if you used schedule 20 thinwall, that pop rivit sticking up 1/4" WOULD keep the Nerf from falling out and might be able to insert and remove that Nerf without damaging the bulb.

I carried my Nerfs in my BDU pockets. Two in each breast Pocket. Two in each top BDU side Pockets. Three in each BDU bottom Thigh Pocket. That is 10 Nerfs and I got 9 shots per air tank for the RPG. No need to carry more than you can shoot.

Also carried my Nerfs AND air tank for the RPG in a 8+1 backpack worn BACKWARDS on my body. Air tank and Nerfs on my front made decent welt protection too. That one carried 8 Nerfs plus a couple in my breast pocket of the BDU top. I tried holding the Nerfs in extra pods. Hard to get out in a hurry but you could TRY short pieces of 2" PVC so they would be easier to grab. Since the pod carriers were deep, I was also able to put TWO Nerfs per pouch if the bulbs faced away from each other.

All of those Worked but the Nerfs got scrunched and bent the fins in storage there affecting accuracy. Your bandoler might solve those problems and it would look VERY Rambo-ish.

Does that give you some ideas?

Thx, good stuff there. I like the thin walled clear tubing. I had also considered a section of flexible corrugated 2" pipe with a flange on the end. Would be wrapped over the shoulder. Would look something like a long flexible drink cup dispenser with the rockets loaded nose to tail.....

Yeah, Good idea. You COULD just use that schedule 20 thinwall 2" pipe strapped to your backside Several of them made into a backpack thingy. Open at the BOTTOM of the tube but with a Detent mounted about 3" above the bottom end to keep the Nerfs from falling out BUT expose the fins so you can grab them and pull them out. Just reach down just above your hip and pull out a Nerf. You would already be holding right to stuff into a RPG. The Next one would fall down into place.

Flex Hose like this? Comes in expesive rolls.

I was thinking more like black french drain pipe. Cheap and available at almost any hardware store.

My launcher actually needs a shoulder strap. My new idea is to take the clips from a pool cue holder and pop rivet them to the shoulder strap. This way if I hand the launcher off to another teammate they also get the rockets.

That would work too. If you play like I do when hunting tanks, I'm crawling and rolling to get into position. Afraid you would lose Nerfs that set up but it is just a guess. You would have it off your shoulder and in your hands. Build it and find out.

I have used a speedball style podpack in the past. the pod slots will each hold one and the elastic loops hold them nicely as well. I wore my Redz 3+2 upside down on my hip and carried 5 rockets oh my hip. I also carried 2 more rockets on my side of my launcher using flashlight clips similar to the pool cue holders glued on the side of the launcher. Add one in the laucher and that is a total of 8 rockets.

I haven't actually had a chance to use it yet. Build quality looks good though. I plan on picking up a molle drop leg platform to mount it on.

I use an old WWII US Navy gas mask bag.It has an aluminum plate in it which is good for protecting the rockets, as bent fins mean inaccurate shots. The only problem is many players think it is a satchel charge; i.e., " Throw your satchel charge at the enemy base you idiot".

Between the two of us we lost 30 nerfs this weekend. I think I'm going to add a spinning reel to the launcher and use it like a TOW....except I reel my rocket back in.....
