looking to buy a new gun, been out of the sport for a couple years.. definitely want to stay with PE.. not sure if i should go with an ego or etek. ill be on a college team this year so its going to be used for speedball obviously. i have about 500-600 to spend on a marker and im not sure what the best bang for my buck is. Anyone want to help me out? or have something to sell? please..

Used Ego or new Etek4 are in your price range.

I would look at an Ego9 or 10 for that money personally. if you can get a little more or are patient enough you might even be able to get an Ego11 for $600-650

The Ego11 is leaps and bounds better than any of the Eteks on the market, and you will be much happier in the long run.

Like buddie above me said get an brand new etek 4 or an ego 11. I wouldn't get an ego10 just bcause the etek4 is basically the same thing now a days just different milling. The ego 11 goes into that price range of yours every now and then so keep an eye out !!!

What are the major benefits that you see from the ego 9/10 compared to the Etek 4 LT/AM? I have been out of the game for a good number of years.

The egos are a bit lighter, have all the bells and whistles that the top of the line marker should have. I have nothing against the etek...I've had a few of them. It is a less expensive basic version of the ego. I could get even more specific but I am on my phone!

Sorry for the thread jack but can someone shed some light as to a gun that is marked etek ego? What gun would say both models on it? The logo near the butt end of the gun says etek and the word ego is right underneath it.

OP, you can pick up used a used etek 3 for around $300, half of you're total spending budget. That leaves $300 for paint and field fees. Owning an ego won't get you more eliminations than owning an etek 3, but the practice will.
