I'd bet 95% do not get a paycheck. They may play free paintball, but I don't think many get paid just to play.

Veryand I mean very few do It's normally like a couple thousand and a few free guns that they can turn around and sell. There are a few though who do get paid descent money to play but It's not a ton and there's not a lot of them

The way I understand it the ones that get paid generally get paid from their sponsors not the teams, like getting a job as a "PR Rep" or something.

I was told much of the profit that the pros make is off of clinics and stuff like that, however somebody told me once that teams such as Russian legion and Houston Heat get paid a ton but im unsure. mainly high profile teams owned by rich people get paid i think

IIRC, Greenspan is one of the few who gets paid to play paintball, but he's also traveling quite a bit doing clinics and such.

You may want to consider that many of the pros are also employed by a paintball company in sales or some other branch. This allows them to play on sponsored teams and have time to dedicate to playing. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that this was how Ollie Lang earned his salary by moving to Ironmen - he was a Dye employee.

Most of the pro teams playing in the nppl season will not have salaries. PSP teams; Ironmen, Heat, Damage, and Impact pay their players (most of them). Though Im pretty sure most of their contracts vary. A big reason there was so many off seasons moves was because teams were offering payed contracts.

I don't think he ever worked for Dye, but I could also be wrong. I know he co-owns a deli haha.

There are more players than you think that get paid... Not a TON but idk, prolly the top 10-15% of the pro division gets paid. And the ones that do get paid get 1/2 way decent salaries. Also many players do work for their sponsors, and may also make money running tournaments and clinics.

To name a few players I am 90% get paid..

Justin Rabakoff
Greg Sweirs
All the russians on heat
Most players on russian legion
Dave bains
Chad george
A good chunk of the players on Damage
Alex goldman

I am sure there are more, but those are just ones off the top of my head that I am sure get paid to play.

Truth is... most pro players are full-time students, or have full-time jobs, and save every Vacation/Sick Day for tournaments/practice.

Depends on the team. I would say the 1%ers get paid cash. Most get guns. When players are paid in guns it's an easy way for the sponsors to double or triple their dollar. If a gun cost 400 to make and a player can sell it for 800 then the company can increase the value of the players contract while not actually having to pay that number.
