The fact that a high compression, performance oriented motorcycle motor is still running after that many miles without a rebuild is pretty impressive. I've only heard of a handful of sportbikes with over 100k.

Only because they get crashed before they make it that far. The engineering is impressive but it's not unheard of for those bikes to go that far with ease.

Lots of motors blow up.

Most bikes I see with over 100k are not sportbikes. No reason it can't happen, just unusual.

I would like to take my bike to 100,000 miles but I just don't see that happening. So many other bikes I want to try other than a cruiser.

Will get right on that SA.

this guy and the guy in front of him towards the beginning on the orange and white cbr are a couple of the faster riders i associate with personally. The wera crowd was apparently using that weekend as practice time lol.

i hope the day comes when I'm that comfortable with going that crazy fast that I can just be like "oh, well I guess I'll just take this line then" and still go crazy fast

And check out this one. Watch this kid pass him at around 3:00. His name is jake Lewis and is just seconds off multiple track records and the kids only 14 years old. Crazy fast. He is just gone

my yz400f has gone 14 years without needing even as much as a valve adjustment. not sure what that equates to in miles, but that's a really long time. also not a crotch rocket motor, but still a psycho motor none-the-less.

i have to keep reminding myself that i wanted to buy a project. projects are frustrating.

That's why the new 4 strokes aren't no where near as reliable as the 2 strokes. Too many RPM's on 1 cylinder/piston/valves. 4 strokes are part of the reason why I don't ride motocross anymore. Just don't have the money to keep 1 running and I'll be honest... I wasn't slow. I would have to stay up on maintenance pretty heavily.

yeah, if this bike wasn't so reliable i'd be on a 2-stroke, but you just can't kill it! so therefore i love 4-strokes. my yz250f, otoh, was not so reliable. thank god the PO included a full rebuild kit, because i needed it!

going to go pick up a gym membership today and train my *** off until 2013 so i can go race mx and not die.

You think you are fast when you make it to A group... then you start racing lol

I will hopefully be getting much faster this year.

The old yz400f's had a good reputation. They weren't as radical. You got a gem man!

yeah i did. the carb isn't being much of a gem anymore though, i'm thinking of updating it to a newer one. i've heard they're easier to work and live with.

depends on what orgs A group. I'm middle of the pack intermediate at best with nesba, but I could definitely ride A with STT or TPM and not be the slowest guy out there.

Allowing people to choose what group they want to ride in works so well
