So, I spent last night tearing down / cleaning / lubing / oiling my new (used) Geo. I haven't even aired this thing up yet and I'm already really impressed.

I have never owned a marker this well designed, and the fit and finish are leaps and bounds beyond any paintball product I've ever worked on. Well done, Eclipse. Can't wait to get on the field with this baby.

glad you haven't shot it yet, because you need to take your bolt back apart and relube it with grease, not oil. Spyders oon steroids (Ego's) use oil...

exactly! Use only Lube in GEO's....never use OIL!

Oil *is* a lube, just like grease is a lube. "Lube" is just short for lubricant, and both oil and grease are lubricants.

I don't know why so many people say lube when they really mean grease, but it isn't accurate - it avoids confusion if you refer to oil and grease, rather oil and "lube".

So to clarify, you should only use grease with the Geo.

You should only use oil on the rammer and bolt o-rings.

Use grease on the reg piston head o-rings.

Oil is used on the piston neck o-rings (found in the base of the reg).

Static o-rings can be oiled or greased - it's not critical which you use.

I just happen to be a graphite lubricant formulator by trade, so I'll help with the definitions: Lube is short for lubricant, so that can correctly refer to both oils and greases (which are simply thickened oils).

Anyway, thanks for the concern from everyone, but no worries re the Geo. The only places I used oil were the trigger bearings and the OOPS pin, per the manual. Otherwise, all Eclipse grease all the time.
