They then got together after the point and over ruled everything that happened and took the point away from us and gave the other team the hang and the pull. Absolutely HORRENDOUS reffing at this event, and one of the refs even told me he was still hungover from the night before. When EVERY team playing D4 is complaining about how awful the reffing was, you have a problem. The reffing was lazy, and very unprofessional and would shut you down anytime you tried to talk to them. I've always liked nppl, but this may push me towards psp. We made playoffs too, keep that in mind, so I'm not mad or blaming the refs for us not placing. I just felt the event reffing was very poorly handled.
That was probably the most disappointing part of the event for us. There was even the one where it was just us left again where I trade with a guy, he kept going and shot Nik. The guy I traded with actually got a penalty for it, but they still called Nik out instead of wiping the hit.

Just to throw it out there, I do not believe that the reffing lost us the event, but there was some bull**** going on. Almost every team in our division was complaining about the reffing like I've never seen before, a lot of people from other teams were complaing about the calls we got to.

Weird, these are the exact same problems I saw happening last time I played in the NPPL in 2010. There's a reason that attendance and event quality keeps falling. No one wants to play events that never get better and continually have the exact same problems. No one wants to pay thousands of dollars to see instances of obvious bias and ignorance of the rulebook. No one wants to work with an unprofessional staff.

I would hope that if there is an NPPL in 2014, they would work to correct the same problems that have been happening for years.

I have no dog in this hunt, but the video would more or less settle the matter, as long as it shows what happened clearly.

Never had the desire to play national events, so yes still D4 but play like D1. It's not my fault the ranking system is jacked up.

Plenty of 20+ year players out there "ranked" D4 or lower. Just an FYI.

I played in the pro/open division and the refs on our field were on point. Quick and correct calls all around. When people lose its always the refs...

D4 PSP is about D1 NPPL. I love seeing D1 and D2 NPPL players not make Sunday in the PSP when playing D4.

Again, just vote with your dollars if you believed you were wronged. Play a regional series (WCPPL) or the PSP. It would be cool to see a Colorado team at the WCPPL.

We are traveling back home so the video will be posted when we return, to bring up another topic, setup for how many teams advanced, 6 or 8 make up your mind. Don't try the excuse of number of teams, there were the same amount at Chicago. Why do you change this threw out the season? if your playing your *** off and winning every point, you should go against teams that also fought hard and won games? Am I mistaken? when I play to travel to a national event I expect organization. And the NPPL needs to concentrate on the other divisions, it should not matter what field you play on for what the refs are going to do. Regardless of how this went down I think it needed to be done, and obviously we are not the only people that think that. I just hope the NPPL takes this information and builds on it constructively. Consistency is lacking, we all know it's possible, look at PSP.

That doesnt make sense, because if you placed that high most teams would move up to d3. Why would you stay in d4? Your decision on staying in d4 does not reflect on how your skills and team building has improved. You just decided not to challenge yourself.

I/my team didn't have a single problem with reffing this event. It was pretty consistent, hats off to them for standing in the Vegas heat for 3 days getting railed so we can have fair games!!! The ONLY thing I didn't like about this event was that they only took 4 teams to Sunday for d3....that doesn't make any sense considering there was 11 teams that played, they could of easily took 6 or 8. All in all this was a great event, VXP is a beautiful paintball park and hope it is the home of 2014 Vegas! NPPL is trying hard to get back to where they once were and they're slowly getting there. You know a league cares about the players/league when they're doing surveys to find out what's lacking, what can be improved, and what needs to stay the same!....just my 2 cents though hahaha

lower divisional reffing is always worse, including the PSP, let's not pretend they have the better refs. you want the best refs, play d1 or higher, that goes for both leagues. sad but true...

Ok here we go...

1. On Pbnation I am not replying as a representative of the NPPL but instead just another guy with an opinion.

2. If you think I been rude in some way then I would say that PBNation may not be the forum for you because the comments that I make in defense of myself, the NPPL or paintball in general are extremely mild when compared to what is being said by others in this forum.

3. I have NO IDEA where you got that MMA quote... Because I WASNT EVEN ON THE WEBCAST FOR THAT MATCH. Furthermore Frank Connell is a friend of mine and while I may tease him from time to time I have a lot of respect for him and his team and would never say anything intentionally disrespectful about them.

I think you may have the wrong guy...
