How to start?

I'm sure you guys get threads asking on what to do to be fit.

I am 16 and I'm around 5'9" and weight around 185-190. I'm somewhat chubby. I have a friend who has the P90X DVDs and was wondering if that's a good place to start? Is there another kind of workout that would be better for a beginner?

I used to have weight training at school so I'm not weak but I haven't had it for 2 semesters.

I'm just wanting some simple advice on where to start?

Diet is much more important than training when it comes to losing weight.

You haven't lifted in 2 semesters, but have remained "strong"

If your goal is just to lose some fat, then yes P90X will be fine.

P90X is fine to start off with. Focus on doing it consistently and do not let yourself miss workouts. Also, focus on eating better. Of course at your age you have limits on what you can do, but make an effort to improve there.

Don't forget to make it enjoyable for yourself. If you enjoy it, working out will be enjoyment and not a hassle.

I wouldn't consider myself jacked but I'm not weak. I did 1 set of 10 of 135 the other day at the gym. When I used to do reps, I would usually do around 155.

I need to cut back on the unhealthy food and soda, I'm just extremely picky on what I eat.
