I picked this Sterling up a couple of weeks ago and went out and used it the way it came to me. After using it for 1 game I then realized it needed some "refining" so what I did was put a set of matched springs in, polished all in internals, installed a Venturi Bolt I bought back in the 90's, put on a drop forward and on/off ASA for my 22/3000. This past Sunday I used it in its new configuration, when I went up to the chrono station it shot 277-280 with 5 shots and I played all day with it, man do I love these old Proline Sterling's. Here's a pic of the gun and bolt.
