Halo Shell and Speedfeed Problems...

Okay so I got this halo in part of a trade, and something is messed up, but I'm not 100% sure what it is. So I'm thinking the problem is in the shells, but here is the issue, a lot of the screws aren't reaching far enough to screw into the nut on the other side of the shell. The two shells clamp together completely on the outside, which just doesn't seem to make sense why the screws won't fit. Any guesses?

Onto my second problem, I have a speedfeed of some sort, but I have no idea how to put it on. I'm guessing I'm missing a piece or something. I just cannot figure out a way to put it on, here is a picture of it.

Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated!

The speed feed is a homemade peice that is a peice of a sink, and get some longer screws for the shells and you should be good to go.

If it fits over the mouth lip but is still too loose to stay on it was more then likely held on with either tape or glue. I'd just use some double sided tape and build it up enough to hold
