Legal Paintball suppressor

Serious Question: If you had to jump through a few hoops (getting your fingerprints done, 30 day waiting period, get a passport photo of yourself), would you be willing to do that to LEGALLY own a paintball suppressor. and I mean one that actually works and looks sweet!! Not a Folger's coffee can on the end of your barrel, would you do it?? I have a way to Legal manufacture and sell, but a customer would have to supply the above items... If no one is interested, then its not worth my time....

PS, this wouldnt stop someone who buys one from you from selling it to someone without the following items... loop hole

No, they could sell it. but whomever buys it off my customer would own an illegal suppressor. It would no longer be legal unless they legally transferred its ownership and payed the $200 transfer tax.

yea, but you wouldnt be in trouble as a business owner... and people make suppressors all the time, and the cops dont go to the fields and crawl down their throats. the issue would be the business selling them.

if the police pull someone over and notice theres no catalytic converter on a car the guy gets a warning or a 15 day... the second the cops catch a show cutting off a cat and welding in a straight pipe its a 14,000$ federal fine

Yeah, you are right. People do make them. but for those that don't have the ability to make one and have the cash for one, I'd like to be able to offer it to them... But I have to LEGALLY sell them. After someone buys one, they can do whatever they want with it... Use it, sell it, or whatever...

I had bought 1 from "Scanline" in costa mesa Cali back in the early 90's. worked AWESOME on my Phantom Pro-stock pump. It silenced the shot very well. Too bad the dip-sh-t Pollockticians had to go and ban them. I mean really, who you gonna stalk and quietly kill with a paintball gun!!!!!

Hmm, well, I guess I might setup a system for those that are interested. It wouldn't take me very long to set it up and just see if anyone buys one..

i think you should do one for the tiberius pistol/rifle. Use an offset shroud like the osprey and and felt scrubbers at the tip.

Honestly, you'd be looking at $400. Its $200 just to have it registered with the ATF to make it legal, then $200 for the complete suppressed barrel system...

Why do you feel it needs to be registered? Contact someone from the ATF about your design and ask if it needs to be registered as a real suppressor.. In my state you can't buy a real suppressor without having Class 3 and ****... Extremely expensive and long/difficult process to purchase one.. Like $1,500 for a .22 suppressor...

If you're designing it for a paintball barrel I can't imagine it would work for **** on a real gun barrel that's significantly smaller in diameter. Would the thing even mount up?

*edit* also, if you made it in such a way that it would actually suppress both, but the hot gasses from a real firearm would potentially catch it on fire/melt it, I suspect you could get away without having to register it with the ATF. Just some food for thought. I can't see anyone in paintball going to the extent of a Class 3 to suppress a paintball gun.

I did, and yes you have to register it. They consider it a read suppressor because you could pull it off you paintball marker and put it on a real firearm and it would suppress the shot. Hence they consider it real and require regristration.

Like I stated, its to own a LEGAL one. you don't have to. but I'm only able to SELL legal ones. and no, you don't need a class 3 license. There is another option avail.

And I have one on my sniper rifle. Its suppresses he decibels to about 70%. I'm still working on video that will have one regular and one suppressed marker so show the difference...

I'm filing the paperwork and getting a couple legal questions answered. Hopefully I'll know for sure in a couple weeks....

Because don't you have to do a crap ton of paperwork on your end and pay a dart ton of fees to be able to make them in the first place?

Yes, on the paperwork. But that's what I'm offering. I'll do all the paperwork, get the suppressor registered and then send to you. All you have to do it pay for the suppressor and registration costs... and all that would be under $500. Probably about $399 all said and done.

To be honest, I would have no interest in paying for a suppressor for paintball, let alone the $200 tax stamp. It is impractical and in my experience a waste of time and money (I've shot people from concealed locations and they continued playing because they couldn't identify a shooter).

To put it in perspective, I'm unwilling to purchase the suppressors for my real firearms due to prohibitive costs, why would I pay for one to play paintball.
