Looked into it. They are only making this IF they raise $100k. The director isn't a complete nobody, but he isn't anyone big so this could be really good, or really bad

The Kickstarter is only for advertising and promotional funds. They apparently got investors to raise $2.4 million for production.

It seems they will use whatever they make on this kickstarter campaign to market the movie. I also assume that the level of funding they get here will be used to show that there is interest in the movie to help aquire a better distribution deal.

No this is truly not your Hollywood paintball movie. My cousin is Alex, he is also a former teammate of mine. I can promise you it's not going to be what other movies are. Playing is going to be done by actual player's and backing from major industry leaders. If you have specific question's I would be glad to answer them.

Not trying to be a downer, but just be careful with kickstarter..... I admit #speedball looks more legit, but so did strikeloader.....

Yes I remember watching that movie so many times. I thought the side loaders were so cool. I was thinking about downloading it, but i cant find a torrent of it anywhere.

I would get so pumped watching that movie. just made me want to go play all the time. The movie did kinda suck though. I loved it and badly want to see another one created.

According to the Speedball The Movie Facebook page, they didn't raise the money but...

"Thank you to everyone that donated and shared the campaign. Unfortunately, we did not successfully reach our goal -- but that's okay! We were triumphant in creating relationships with some companies and individuals that found the film through the buzz that you all helped create"

What those new relationships mean, who knows?
