Columbus played better than I expected them too. At least they got a point out of it to help ease their last place in the league pain. lol

questioning a front office of a team that is going undefeated for 1/3 of the season. Smart.

I agree with you here... i had to watch it a second time to actually see the genius of it.

I was rooting HARD for them at the bar. Sadly, much like my bank account, they came up lacking.

Let's be honest, if our goalies stellar play didn't come out of no where, Q would be looking for a new job, and the axe would fall on most of the front office with the exception of Stan, cause he is immune from that kind of thing.
Our front office repeatedly picks up/attempts to pick up plugs that make no sense. John Scott, Sean O'Donnell, Brunette, Rusty Olesz, Lepisto, the attempt on Sesito, Bollig, Kim Johnsson, the list goes on. We repeatedly pick up ****ty "plugs." Far worse than your expected, ****ty plug. Not since the 2009-2010 season when we snagged Madden have we had a decent plug, UNTIL this year, when they got Oduya and Roszy.
Also, I will continue to question the front office because whether Stan Bowman admits it or not, Dale Tallon is the architect of the core of this team. Sure, at the end of the 2009-2010 season we were in cap armageddon thanks to him, but everyone also thinks Stan was the GM who put the 2009-2010 team together, when in fact Tallon did, and they canned him midway through the season for reasons still unbeknowst to the majority of the fans. The core of this team is Dale Tallon's lasting legacy, sure Stan's picked up some nice pieces, but this team lives and dies by the core, which were put together at a young age by Tallon. We won that year because of Tallon.
The reason the Hawks are winning this year is due in large part to the core getting their **** together, the defense has returned to form, and our prospects have stepped up, most of which were acquired in the Tallon era. Don't attempt to argue with me on this.

I wouldn't call my statement arguing. I just find it foolish to be complaining when your team hasn't even amounted a loss this season. This is coming from a fan who's team can't even break .500 (Hopefully i'll be wrong around 3pm today)

um we got olesz from Florida when we had to salary dump campbell, kim johnsson came with leddy in the barker deal and oduya was traded for at deadline last year. you're giving waaaay to much credit to tallon considering it was his fault our cap situation got so ****ed in the first place. he blew the deadline for qo's to rfas and as a result they couldn't afford to sign them. not to mention how lacking his drafting was(beach, barker) outside of two basically no-brainers in kane and toews. oh forgot to mention his stellar fa decisions like making campbell one of the highest paid players in the league and signing the goal tending stalwart huet to a monster deal.
quite frankly, it seems like you have no clue what you're talking about.

Did you not read? I said specifically that it was his fault regarding the salary cap meltdown, but he still put together a team that got it done. Also, at the time Nick Leddy was an afterthought, Johnnson was supposed to be a 2nd pairing plug, Leddy was just a nice bargain to go along with the offload of Barker.
Also, read the player comments, he did not **** up the QOs. McDonough screwed the pooch on that one and there was alot of bull**** behind the scenes that leads one to believe Tallon was on a leash. That whole situation was a cluster****, a number of players basically said Tallon got ****ed.
While he made some dumb contracts, Campbell deserved a good portion of his contract (look at the last two years without more than one puck moving defenseman for evidence of how valuable he was), the Huet deal was retarded. Draft wise, Beach looked like a ****ing monster coming out of Junior, how the hell was he supposed to know he'd **** the bed and regress the way he has. Also, going back to the Campbell trade, offloading or not, Campbell was high value. Sure a huge contract, but only to get Olesz who had basically proven nothing was moronic. Even more ironic that they saw him as a top 6 plug for the loss of Versteeg/Ladd.
Draft wise, he got Kruger in 2009, he's seeing 3rd line minutes now. Pirri was also picked up in 2009, who will likely make the jump by the end of this year or next. Ben Smith in 2008. Hjalmarsson in 2005. Bolland, Bickell, Brouwer in 2004. Seabrook and Crawford in 2003. Keith in 2002. I think he did fine... (Granted from 2002-2005 he was only director of player development or some title)
Stan has proven nothing so far outside of maybe the last offseason moves. Don't lecture me smartass. /flame

I lost a bet with a Ducks fan on reddit, now I have to write a post in the Wild subreddit that the real reason Suter's been struggling this year is because he has chronic diarrhea.

um, so what? He got a good young dman for ****ty cam barker who hasn't touched the ice at all this year

That whole situation was a cluster****, a number of players basically said Tallon got ****ed. Spin it however you want, tallon **** the bed and ****ed us out of keeping guys like versteeg for a couple more seasons. And the player who came out and said anything was Havlat and only because Bowman got hossa instead of resigning him.

100% false. Every team in the NHL KNEW we had to dump campbell, and he was/is not a high value asset because he's signed for over a 7 mil cap hit through 2016

Almost nothing you said was remotely accurate. Fact is, Tallon completely ****ed the team over with several terrible contracts and wasn't even around when we won the cup. You can give Tallon all sorts of BS credit, but the fact is Bowman guided us through cap hell caused by tallon and we're currently 18-0-3.
That's the beautiful thing about Chicago... Everyone has an opinion. Like I said, I never thought to post here cause its more fun arguing with fellow Hawks fans on all the blogs.

see red
Also, right now bowman is responsible for these players on the hawks:
Hjalmarsson(matched offer sheet)
Emery
Oduya
Leddy
Rosival
Brookbank
Carcillo
Saad
Frolik
Mayers
Stalberg
Shaw
Hossa
And I think Bolland is the only player that hasn't signed a contract while Bowman was with the hawks.
