Harmonica

So i just decided that i wanted to learn harmonica, i've always loved the blues and thought it would be cool to learn. Plus it's an instrument not many people play and it's unique. Anyways i just ordered a Lee Oskar Major Diatonic, C.
This one
And im stoked to start learning. I dont think i've ever even stuck a harmonica in my mouth so it could be interesting at first. Anyone else on here play or like harmonicas??

I don't actually play it, but I like to mess around with the one that I have every time that I rediscover it. If you have any sense of a musical ear, it's really not that hard at all to start playing it. It's a hell of a lot of fun.

That's cool man, i used to play trumpet and drums but dont anymore. I miss playing music so this is a good fun way to get back into it. I can just carry it anywhere with me and play whenever i have some downtime.

Haromnica is really fun to play. I'm not very good, but there's a person at my church who is amazing and can play along with anything. I'm going to try to get him to teach me.

You don't really need much of a musical ear to play harmonicas. 99% of them are are in certain keys/scales, so as long as the other instruments are in that key/scale, whatever you play on the harmonica will which the instruments. There is a little bit of control over which exact pitches you want the play and in what rhythm, but it's not like you can have a hard time finding a proper note

That I did not know.

So a harmonica player has to have a harmonica for every key that he wants to play in?

You buy the most popular keys first. Get a C first then maybe a G, then F, then Bb, then D and you can increase your collection until you get one in every key.

Lol, good luck. What's the Egyptian scale? Is it also known as the Arabian scale?

I'm sure there are several scales. Nile uses them a lot.
