Personally online playing a tournment after it rained when its all muddy that's when I believe I do my best cause a lot of people aren't good at playing in it so I take advantage of it and who doesn't like to slide in mud!

I love playing on a well manicured grass field. Dirt is just awful if it has a lot of rocks and turf can get weird once there is a lot of paint on the field.

Grass probably first and foremost for me. There's just something about it, the look, the feel, even the smell. Laying down a good slide or dive when there's some good morning dew on the field...it's just, right.
Only played on turf a couple of times, wouldn't mind doing it more often, I can definitely see the advantages over trying to keep up a grass field, or even a dirt field.
Dirt, maybe if it was the same sort of stuff that you see on a baseball diamond, and maintained vigorously. Otherwise, down here in Georgia/Alabama where I've played dirt means red clay, and there is nothing good that can come out of playing on that stuff. It's awful when it's dry because it bakes hard as concrete. It's awful when it's wet because it turns in to absolute sludge.

I can't stand dirt. Sliding into a snake and coming up with a gun full dirt is never a good experience.

turf for me.Turf is kind of hard to get a good grip. Also turf if it gets covered in paint welcome to sliding a few extra feet and getting tons of more paint on you.I do not enjoy those parts but I do not enjoy dirt for sure.Grass is okay fo myself do to you can dive super good on grass. But the negative is that that mud has alot of cleaning afterwords.

Grass, feels more forgiving than dirt or turf. Plus dirt sucks for dust on gear and gives away positions. Turf is iffy' since I've played on good turf fields and bad. Indoor turf fields seem too slick and the play I play has too many seams.

at my local field we have a rec field that we all play on occasionally. dirt/grass mix. it's nice in the winter when the dirt is kinda moist but not mud, but otherwise i hate it cuz it's ****ing hard.
turf is alright. like others, well taken care of turf is good. but used and abused turf sucks cuz that **** has no traction (using football cleats)

Good turf that gets cleaned is sweet. The cheap stuff turns into an ice areana. Good grass is nice too. In Hawaii we have a sand/beach one and it's nice to play but fine sand everywhere isn't the best for the equipment.

I play every weekend at Kickn paintball park in mo. One of the deals is being on the team we spend a couple hours after practice raking all the paint off of the field, and cleaning the bunkers. The indoor is high quality field turf (not indoor/outdoor crap but actual turf) and since we spend so much time raking and cleaning that it is in amazing condition and easily the best surface I have played on! I like the sun so well groomed grass is nice too. Dirt is garbage it becomes hard when its dry and mud when its wet.

Grass is definitely the best, played on dirt when i first started and that was rough, and turf doesnt have great grip when its all oily

However, if it isn't taken care of or is that carpet turf that is low quality, then it sucks. We don't have much grass out here for fields, but we had an event at a soccer complex a few years back and that was really nice to play on.
If I had to chose them on a whim, it would be turf, then grass, then dirt.

I agree with you. It all comes down to how well is the field maintained. If it is turf and it is keep in great condition and cleaned very well and on a consistent basis, then it is great. Grass is always a blast to play on and I have not played dirt. Did play sand and that was actually a great experience. Slides were interesting to stand up with a sand box in your jersey
